Tonight was a little different. It was Saturday and your school was having a tailgating "party" to kick off the start of the basketball season at your school. There would be a chili contest and fun games and then the girl's and boy's basketball teams would split up and play against each other.
Every grade had to come up with a theme for their tailgate and your freshman class somehow decided upon memes. It was supposed to Christmas, but the seniors took that idea before you could hand the sheet of paper in with your theme on it. And now, you had to dress up like a meme and make a complete fool of yourself. But hey, your friends were doing it, too, so it wouldn't be that bad.
Your outfit wasn't exactly the most extreme. You simply wore a unicorn onesie and brought a unicorn stuffed animal with you.
"What are you supposed to be?" Hoseok had asked you.
"Don't talk to me or my son ever again," you scowled before giggled and looking up the many memes to give him a visual.
Namjoon was taking you to your school, for he was the only sibling free tonight. He thought your outfit was cute and that you would definitely be hard to top (even with you explaining that someone was doing the "dat boi" meme). So when you pulled up in the parking lot, you spotted your friends before bolting out of the car, hyped up on the confidence Namjoon had fueled.
But you frowned. "Wait, why are you guys just wearing normal clothes?" you asked as you walked up to the table that had a few open soda cans sitting on it.
The friend that had designed the whole plan looked at you with wide eyes. "Did you not get the text?"
Your best friend shot a glance at a girl who was all up on a sophomore boy. "We told (Y/Enemy's/N) to send out a text to everyone saying not to dress up."
"Yeah," the other girl agreed. "She wanted so badly to be a part of it, but I think she forgot that she was in charge of games, food, and getting the truck."
"So we weren't supposed to dress up?" you asked, beginning to shrink under all the weird glances you were getting.
Your best friend shook her head. "I wish I would've known you didn't get the text."
You looked down and felt yourself slide into self pitty. But a hand came down on your shoulder and you jumped.
"Did you not get the text?" (Y/Enemy's/N) asked.
"No," you sniffled, beginning to cry.
"I knew I forgot someone," she muttered. "Oh well."
You shook her hand off of you and looked back at the car to see Namjoon finally lugging hisself up to where you were. "I'm leaving," you hissed before stomping off in your brother's direction. With your fast pace you met him in no time, and it didn't take him long to realize something was wrong.
"Hey, where are you going?" Namjoon asked, grabbing your shoulder to stop you from walking. "Look's like the party's up there."
"I want to go home," you whined.
"Why? You mean you dressed up to make an appearance and then leave?"
"Apparently I wasn't supposed to dress up." You leaned forward into Namjoon's embrace and pressed your cheek up against his chest. "I just want to leave."
"Then I guess we can go," Namjoon sighed, a little upset that he had to get ready and leave his warm house to make a quick run to your school just to leave again.
So you left. You both got back in the car and you explained what had happened. You quickly began to dread the following Monday and when you got home, you planned on watching that movie you had been dying to see. But when the car sped past the road you normally took to head home, you questioned Namjoon as to where he was going.
"You really think I'm just going to let a few spoiled rich kids mess up my sister's fun?" he asked, shooting you a grin.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm taling you to the mall."
"The mall?"
"We're going to get you fixed up," he stated.
"But home is closer," you countered. "Wouldn't it be better just to take me, let me change, and then come back."
"Yeah, but what will your 'friends' think when they see you show up in a completely new outfit that may or may not cost a bit too much?"
"You don't have to."
Namjoon shook his head. "Nope. I do."
You sighed. "Fine, fine. Have it your way with spending money."
"I only do it when it comes to my favorite sibling."
