Trigger Warning: Mentions of Death

Angelica could hear the sounds outside that let her know she wasn't safe, they were just outside. She was trapped in a shack, her clothes bloody and she was covered in dirt and other things. She had just witnessed her entire family's death and yet she had to carry on. She couldn't cry, she wanted to, the memory of Peggy opening the door only to have her arm ripped off, the screaming followed her to the present as her family was eaten alive.

A quiet sob left her mouth and instantly Angelica covered her mouth, some shuffling outside of the shack stopped. Angie wobbled onto her shaking knees and held her bat up to her chest, ready to defend herself. She had to live on, if she lived on then so did her family, she would have children and named them Philip, Catherine, Elizabeth, and Margarita, in their names they might live on. She had made this plan half an hour ago, she had lost her family maybe two hours ago, others in her situation may want to end their life but Angelica couldn't do that, there was no point in her dying and it would mean Eliza's sacrifice would mean nothing. Angelica would call them undead and one lunged for her but Eliza got in the way, her back being dug into savagely while she weakly told Angelica to run. So she did. Now she was trapped.

The door creaked open and she lifted her bat to swing but her hands shook, something felt different with this one. He was missing an eye and a cut traveled from his eye back to his head, his flesh seemed to be falling off and his collarbone bore another gash though his skin held together there. His one eye was deep brown while his hair was slicked into a sloppy ponytail of the same color his eye was. His shirt was in tatters and he looked at her in half fear.

"G-Get away," Angelica begged quietly, even though she had a bat she wasn't sure if she could use it. He looked human, they all look human, she couldn't hurt them. The man grunted and took a step forward making Angelica back up, hitting her back against the wall of the crappy room. He lifted his hand and she closed her eyes, flinching away as she thought he was going to do to her what happened to her family but to her surprise, she felt his hand against her cheek. Angie slowly blinked her eyes open while the man dropped his hand, "Wh-What?"

For a few moments, he made no noise before grunting something. Angelica was confused and he grunted again, "Dis...guise..." She blinked and he made a shuffling motion to show her what to do.

Angelica guessed he was a more intelligent undead and nodded nervously, "O-Okay. My-My name is Angelica Schuyler." She put her hand on the spot where he had touched her and pulled it back, looking at it, "Is this blood?" She asked nervously, whose blood was it?

He nodded and she looked up at him. He patted his chest, "Al..ex. My blood." He told her, his throat clenching to show her he was struggling to speak. He had a weird look in his eye and for a moment she thought he would eat her but then again if he wanted to he already would have.

Angie guessed he made her smell like him with the blood and when he shuffled out of the shack she followed nervously. She kept her eyes on the back of Alex's feet and stumbled after him, making sure not to make contact with the moaning monsters all around her. Angelica suddenly bumped into Alex and blinked, "Safe." He grunted.

Angelica looked around and sighed, it looked to be an empty field with an empty house, "Where are we?" She asked as she walked into the house with Alex shuffling behind her. Alex muttered something and she decided not to make him repeat it for his throat's health as it looked painful to speak, "Here, follow me. Let me tend to your wounds." Alex opened his mouth but she cut him off, "Don't talk, it probably hurts, and let me clean your cuts. Just let me do it."

Alex gave in and she helped him inside, there wasn't any furniture so she slowly put him on the ground and lied her bat next to him, "Watch that." She said and looked around. She couldn't find exactly what she wanted but she did find a pack of bottles of water and dragged them over to Alex as he watched uselessly. She found a ragged and ripped cloth which she brought over and got on her knees, "I'm going to clean your cuts." She told him and he nodded, "Don't flinch."

Alex grunted when she dabbed his collarbone and she looked at him but he nodded so she began to dab the cuts slowly, "I saw some thread and a needle, I could sew your face back together right here." She pushed his cheek back to where it's supposed to be and tried not to gag.

Alex nodded and she ran and got the thread and needle before coming back, she bit her lip to keep herself from gagging hard as she slowly stitched him back together. Angie didn't want to gag in front of him at his own body as she cleaned him up, she couldn't stitch his collarbone cut back together because there wasn't enough thread.

"All done," She said and sat back, smiling at Alex, "You look better now. Less undead. I did what I could but it can't be completely fixed, you look better though. You're cute actually..." She blushed and Alex looked away nervously and he would've blushed but he sort of didn't have functioning blood.

Angelica leaned over and kissed his cheek gently, "Thanks for saving me earlier. I thought I would die but...you really came right in time." She smiled and Alex nodded, "Stay with me?" She asked and Alex again nodded. Angie smiled and the two cuddled on the ground in the empty house, relaxing while Angelica tried to sleep. She was still scared but soon Alex wrapped his arms around Angie and they stayed there, Alex not sleeping since he didn't have to while Angie slowly drifted off, occasionally looking at Alex's eyes before falling asleep.
