Eliza sat up as an idea hit her, she was a genius! Quickly she ran to find her husband and hugged him tightly from behind, "Hey, Alex." She held onto him happily, "Do you want to go ice skating?" She asked as she smiled broadly.

Alex stumbled for a moment as he got used to her weight being thrust upon him before setting her down and turning around and trying to hide his embarrassment, "I uhm...I've never gone.." He looked away for a moment, "Nevis doesn't get ice or snow so..."

Eliza smiled before she got yet another idea, "I can teach you how to ice skate if you want? I mean I haven't taught anybody before but we can do this together." She grabbed his hand and hurried to the bedroom door.

Alex tripped before he gained his balance and raced after her with a soft smile, he loved her, he really did. She jumped onto the bed and giggled before reaching under it and fishing out a box, "I bought some." She told him and opened the box to reveal a pair of white skates and a pair of light blue skates which she quickly put on her own feet.

"Thoughtful," Alex mumbled and sat next to her and strapped on his shoes, "So where are we going to skate?" He asked while struggling with the skate straps since he has never put any shoe like this on before in his life.

"Well there's this lake that froze over," Eliza told him and looked at his skates which he had somehow gotten stuck under the actual skate. She giggles and slid off of the bed and onto her knees where she began to do them up for him, "Angelica said she had checked it and it was frozen enough to support over two hundred pounds of weight. Don't know how she got such a specific weight though." She shrugged, "Okay all done!"

"Thanks..." He got up and flailed for a moment before balancing, "Leggo! You can teach me and I'm sure you'll be great at it." He kissed Eliza's cheek and she blushed slightly before he asked, "You know the way?"

Eliza nodded, "Of course. Follow me." She got up and took his hand to steady him as they left. The lake was actually down the street and Eliza sped up when she saw it. Alex smiled and barely stayed balances but they soon got there and Eliza slid onto the ice with ease, doing a spin, "It's easy!"

Alex took a step onto the ice and began to flail, grabbing her hand, "Oh my God no." He whispered and held her as if he was about to die, "How are you so good at ice skating?" He asked quietly.

Eliza smiled and pulled him onto the ice while going backwards and holding both of his hands, "I've been skating my whole life, Alex, I've always lived in New York so every year when the water froze my sisters and I go skating." She answered.

Alex shrieked when he realized they were deep into the ice, "Oh my God don't let go. Don't abandon me." He begged. Eliza smirked and let go making him shriek again, "Stop!" He whined, "Come back!"

Eliza did and held his hands again, "You sound like a child." She told him with a laugh and kissed his nose, "You're way more helpless than me." Alex huffed when she said that as it was something she kept bringing up as it was how she described herself when they first got together, "Want to spin?"

"Don't you dare spin me," Alex growled venomously making her burst into laughter but she didn't spin him in the end, "Please..." He sighed, "Hold my hand, Lizzie...please..." His face colored as he wasn't somebody who said these things.

Eliza giggled and nodded, "Of course, I would never leave my husband to struggle all on his own on the ice." She leaned over and kissed him, Alex felt himself become embarrassed again but he kissed back since he loved her, he would always love her.

"I'm too Southern for this," Alex mumbled and looked at the edge of the ice, "Can we go home and just eat ice cream? I like ice cream, not this crap."

Eliza frowned, ice skating was one of her favorite things, but she wouldn't complain, "Okay...I guess we can...do we have ice cream?" She turned them to skate to the other end of the lake back where they started.

Alex bit the inside of his cheek before he sighed, "No we can stay." The moment he had suggested going home he felt guilty but after realizing he had made her feel bad he felt worse, "Seriously, Liza, we can. You haven't even taught me how to actually skate yet anyway so..." He shrugged to finish his sentence, he just didn't want to be the reason she was upset.

Eliza blinked and looked at him, "But you aren't really feeling it, Lex." She forced herself to smile again and kissed his cheek lightly, "We don't have to stay, you don't have to push yourself. It's okay, Lexi."

Alex shook his head and surprised Eliza by turning his skates into a V shape which made it stop and Eliza stumbled from the sudden stop until Alex pulled her into his arms where he kissed the top of her head, "But I'm being a dick." He admitted, "You like skating, Liz." He smiled and she looked up at him, "I mean, you do things you were scared of because I liked it. Hell, you learned how to swim, you were terrified and didn't complain so I should've done the same, right? Come on, let's skate. It can't be harder than dealing with Thomas Jeffershit."

Eliza blushed and nodded, "Right...right, okay." Alex kissed her forehead and she got to her feet again, "I love you, Alexander."

"I love you too Elizabeth," From there Eliza began to teach Alex the basics of skating. She taught him how to fall down without getting hurt first though because she was sure he was going to fail a lot, and, he did. In the end, Alex found out he actually enjoyed skating far more than he ever thought he would and that made him forever remember not to judge something on the first ten minutes of doing it because it might actually be the best thing in the world.
