When we reached the door of the house, I tried to keep from smiling hard but I couldn't help it. The guy I'd been crushing on longer than any other guy had just kissed me for 5 minutes straight. Drew on the other hand was cool about it as if nothing had ever happened. He was used to kissing, I for one hadn't kissed that many people. He unlocked the door and we went inside. Joseph was on the couch watching TV and looked back at us. "So how did it go?" he wanted to know. Drew shakes his head. "Nothing. We just got the letters and left." he lies.

"I know something else happened. We've been friends forever, I think I know when you're lying."

"I'm not in the mood to talk about it Jo." Drew says before leaving the room. Joseph rolls his eyes. "Can he be any more of a chick?" he laughs. Can he be any more of a man? I think to myself. Joseph peers up at me again looking suspicious. "What's up with you, you're acting weird Sky..."

"Nothing," I say. "I was just thinking about something funny that happened."

"Whatever... By the way, mom and dad are gonna be home tomorrow..." I suddenly realize how much I've missed them.

Joseph turns his attention back to the TV and there's nothing left to do but head up to my room. Once I reach it, i jump on it and try to stop smiling but I can't. I eventually drift off to sleep and I take a long dreamless nap...

I wake up hours later and look at my alarm clock. It's 3am. My thoughts drift back to what had happened between Drew and I and I can't think straight anymore. I climb out of bed and smooth my hair down. I don't know why but I needed to see him... I crept down the hall to the guest room but when I opened the door, it was empty. The bed was perfectly made and all of his things were still there but no him.

My heart drops in disappointment. I head back to my room and I wonder where he is. I take off my clothes putting on a pair of shorts and a tank and sit on the end of my bed wondering where he is. And then it hit me. I looked out of my window and there he was on the porch. Just sitting there with the stack of letters his mother had given him. I knew he wanted to be alone yet it didn't stop me from rushing down the steps and outside to him.

"Hey," I said when i reached him. He didn't look up at me. He just sighed. Maybe he was weirded out about the kiss. I take a seat on the bench next to him and rest my hand on his back. He finally looks up. "What's wrong?" I want to know. As soon as it passes my lips though, i feel stupid. Of course i knew what was wrong! He just found out his dad got his girlfriend pregnant.

"Nothing Sky, you can go back to bed..." he says.

"I wanna stay up with you."

"I don't want you to. This is my problem and I wanna solve it alone."

"OK then..."

I get up feeling unwanted and that's when he stops me. "Sky do you remember the day when my parents got divorced?"

"Yeah..."

"Think about that day for me please." I don't necessarily know why he wants me to think about it,but like that, its on my mind. I remember the day he found out like it was yesterday...
