My heart thudded in my chest as the words left his mouth.

"Guns down. Now," Morales ordered.

I slowly dropped to the ground, placing my large gun over my body onto the floor, along with my pistol from my thigh holster.

We were severely outnumbered. Our group in the front was tied up with their battle, and it was just Rick, Daryl and I in this building.

"So, you're the Rick from Alexandria. Who's this?" Morales tilted his head towards me.

"Skylar..." I trailed off, not understanding what this had to do with the situation.

"This whole time, it was you, Rick," Morales spoke again, putting the pieces together.

"You called your men in for nothing. The fight's out there. It's just us in here," Rick avoided his statement.

"Did you hear what I just said? I know who you are. I saw it in the mirror through the open door. And it wasn't any kind of blast from the past. As soon as I saw you, I knew you'd made the same trip as me. From there to here," Morales spoke slowly.

"Shit, well, I guess we aren't the same guys we used to be, huh? 'Cause, you're a monster," he grimaced.

"And you're not? Do you have any idea what your people have done to ours?" I interjected, taking a step forward.

Morales just shook his head and laughed humourlessly, and Rick put a hand on my shoulder in a calming manner.

"I called The Saviours back because you're a prize, Rick. We've been told. We don't kill you, the Widow, or the King, not if we don't have to. So why are you here, Rick? I know you just like before. You're always the guy willing to rush in," he continued his speech.

I didn't understand what his end goal in all of this was. Did he want to kill us? Or just wait for the saviours?

"But why? What is it you're looking for? Nothing to say, huh? It doesn't matter. Not anymore. Not for you or anyone else you brought in here. 'Cause what's left of my people, they're coming. And we'll get you to Negan. Or we won't. Either way, we're gonna settle your shit, Peaches."

"Is your family here?" Rick questioned, his gaze into Morales' eyes never breaking.

"We never made it to Birmingham. They didn't," Morales answered sombrely.

I felt terrible for him. I really did. Especially losing them at the very beginning?

"Well, I'm sorry," Rick apologized.

"Really, Rick?" He hissed, not believing him one bit.

"I am. I lost people, too. We've lost people," Rick added me into the conversation at the end. I nodded in agreement.
