"No matter how hard the past was, you can always begin again."

I couldn't remember the last time I had been to Hilltop or seen Enid. It had been a long time since the ties were cut between Alexandria and Hilltop. That was the main reason I wanted to leave. Plus, the fair was coming up, and since Michonne wouldn't let Alexandria become a part of it, I'd go on my own.
The new group of 5, along with DJ, all sat in our makeshift trailer, along with two horses pulling it. Michonne was to the left of them, followed by Siddiq and then me on top of Oliver. I had my bow and arrows strapped to my back and my nearly empty gun in my thigh holster.
"How much further have the patrols cleared?" Michonne asked DJ, with who I had never been close. He was just someone I passed by in the community sometimes.
"Til the Route D river bend. Their rig's about five miles past that. If their story checks out," he gave Yumiko a side glance, and I rolled my eyes.
"Judith rescued them. She saw it too, so stop making this harder than it has to be," I said calmly, eyes narrowed on the road ahead, and Michonne gave me a look.
"You'd feel better if you just say it," she turned her attention to Siddiq, and I looked over to Luke, who gave me a thankful glance.
"What makes you think I want to say something?" He gave a cheeky smile, and I looked between the two.
"I'm not hearing you deny it," Michonne tested.
"I was gonna tell you that I'm glad you changed your mind about them," Siddiq said, and I nodded.
"But you think I should've let them stay in Alexandria," she guessed.
"Well, you're going pretty far out of your way not to, considering," Siddiq shrugged.
"Considering what?"
"That you like these guys," Siddiq said, and I looked at him, giving a "what are you doing?" look. I wouldn't test Michonne like that.
"Really? That's what I think?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Uh-huh. I mean, I'm not hearing you deny it," he nodded, repeating her same words from before.
"Doesn't mean I trust them," Michonne deadpanned.
The group of five switched between signing and speaking and seemed to disagree about something. The only part I heard was Magna saying, 'I want my damn knives.' I did like these people, but Magna wasn't my favourite, and if she wanted us to help, she shouldn't set off Michonne.
"Look, I'm sorry about Magna. She can be a bit hotheaded," Yumiko said only loud enough for Michonne and I to hear.
"That's one word for it," Michonne sighed.
