"A drop in the ocean, a change in the weather. I was praying that you and me might end up together. It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert but I'm holding you closer than most. You are my heaven."

-FLASHBACK-

"A date!" Richie exclaimed. "A fucking date! Peter and Eddie, does that even sound good to you? It makes me want to barf," he ranted. "I don't even see what he sees in Peter- he's just like Lizzy. They both snap when they don't get what they want. Now, they're just out there somewhere on a date. A date, it's a date. It's not them hanging out- it's them on a date. Isn't that fucking unbelievable? Peter and Eds. Peter. It's Peter- it's not some great guy with great hair- it's Peter. A part of me wants to ask Eddie about his feelings for that asshole."

"Instead of talking about Eddie's feelings," Ben shifted in his seat and watched as Richie threw himself on his bed. "We should talk about yours. Do you like Eddie or something?"

The other boy snorted and gave Ben a look. "Me? Have feelings for Eddie? Please," he faked a laugh. Ben shook his head slowly and Richie sighed. "Okay fine- you forced it out of me. I do. I have a lot of feelings for him. I just don't want to think about him and Peter. They're together as we speak. They could be holding hands. They could be sharing their secrets with one another. They could be hugging. They could even be kissing!"

"God forbid they share one kiss," Ben laughed. "Richie, I thought you came over to learn about the Civil War. Why are we talking about Eddie and Peter?"

"You're absolutely right," Richie mumbled. "We're supposed to be studying and I can't shut up about Eddie and Peter. I'm sorry- let's start from the top. I won't bring it up anymore."

Ben gave him a thankful smile and he opened his history book. "The Civil War started-"

"What do you think they're doing?" Richie asked. "Do you think they're having fun? Too much fun? Do you think they're holding hands or hugging each other every chance they get?"

The action made Ben slam his book shut. He glared at Richie. "Does it matter, Rich?" he questioned. "All you gotta do is tell him you love him and all your problems will be solved. It's obvious there's something there."

"I hate this," he sighed. "I hate this so much. It sucks. Feelings suck. Everything sucks."

"I know it does," Ben comforted.
