"Every time that I swear it's over, it makes me want you even more. You pull away and I come in closer. All we ever stay is torn."

-FLASHBACK-

Eddie hopped into Peter's car, excited for what his boyfriend had planned. Tonight was their second date. Eddie wanted it to be perfect. He started out with pressing a kiss to his cheek. "So, where are we going?" he asked, a wide smile formed on his face. "I'm really excited."

"You'll see," Peter bluntly replied. The action made Eddie's mood change quickly. His smile disappeared and he just nodded his head. "Put your seatbelt on," he ordered. A sigh escaped his lips at how controlling Peter truly was. It drove him crazy. He hated being talked to like a dog or a bad child. He was neither of those things. He wanted to be treated with respect.

"I was going to," Eddie shot back, a sudden spark of boldness growing in him. He didn't put his seatbelt on and he crossed his arms over his chest. "Don't worry about me, Peter. I'll be fine. If we end up getting in an accident, it might be better to get thrown from the car than to have to put up with your bullshit."

Peter snatched Eddie's seatbelt and put it on him. The small movement made Eddie squirm around uncomfortably. "What did you just say to me, Eds?" Peter questioned. "You need to do what I tell you to do."

Eddie knew how the date was going to go. He was gonna be miserable by the end of the night. Peter was going to have one of his many outbursts and blame it all on Eddie. It was typical. The smaller boy was starting to get used to being yelled at all the time. He hated it but it didn't affect him as much as it did before. What scared him was how accustomed it seemed. "Don't call me that," Eddie snickered. "When I said don't call me that last night, I actually meant it."

"You let Richie do it-"

"That's because he came up with it," Eddie exclaimed. "You can't do the things Richie does to make me fall in love with you. It's not going to work, Peter."

"You still love him, don't you?"

"You're unbelievable," Eddie told him. "Why are you acting so insecure? Do my feelings even matter to you? You're probably going to tell me to change them anyway, so why does it matter? I want to go on this date and I want it to be over soon."

"We're almost there," Peter stated as he gripped onto the wheel tightly.  Seeing it made Eddie cringe. He was angry and that worried him. When Peter was mad, anything could go wrong. Anything. The thought itself brought a small amount of fear to Eddie's eyes.
