Eddie and Richie couldn't be separated ever since they were put back together. Nobody was complaining though, in fact, all was right in the world. Richie and Eddie were finally together. Ben had told Beverly over the phone that he loved her back. Mike grew as a person and made a new friend. Bill found Georgie and was with his best friend. Stanley found a nice little family in Bill and Georgie. The losers were alright. Everything was finally okay.
Mike, Ben, Richie, Eddie, and Jane all stood outside of the girl's apartment as they began loading up the truck. They were going home. Derry wasn't exactly a place to brag about but for now, if Richie and the rest of the losers were there, then Eddie would be alright. The location was temporary while the losers there were people Eddie would love forever.
Ben said a nice little goodbye to Jane and hugged Eddie tightly just because he could. He had missed the boy deeply and was happy to be a part of this little trip that brought Eddie home. Ben couldn't wait to finally see Beverly Marsh. He was at peace knowing they'd get together, the only question there was, was when.
Eddie and Richie were standing side by side. Eddie was tucked under Richie's arm while Eddie was holding the hand that was thrown over his shoulder. Richie would randomly press soft kisses to the top of Eddie's head while he rambled about something.
They'd be back here someday. Both boys knew that much.
Mike stood in front of Jane with a sad smile and brought the girl into a friendly hug. "It's been a pleasure knowing you for this short amount of time," he told her.
He didn't even know her well but a part of him just wanted to ask her to drop everything and come with them. Derry didn't deserve her though. She was meant to be in New York. No small town was ready for a city girl like Jane.
"It really has," Jane hummed, sweetly. "It's gonna be lonely here without Eddie. I guess I'll manage though. He clearly belongs with you guys."
Mike nodded at her. "You will manage," he confidently replied.
Jane put out her hand for Mike to shake. He slowly placed his hand in hers and shook it. "Come back here someday, Mike," she said softly. "I'd like to get to know you more."
Her hand was still resting in his own as he grinned widely at her. "I will," Mike insisted, "Someday." Jane pulled him forward by the hand and pecked his cheek before finally letting him go. "Goodbye, Jane."
She smiled. "Goodbye."
Mike got in the truck with Ben and waited for their friends to join them. Eddie said bye to Jane and he and Richie watched her walk back into her building before turning their attention to each other. "You really ready to go back to the shithole you ran away from?" Richie questioned.
Eddie nodded quickly and sent his boyfriend a smile. "Yeah. It's just one more year. Then we're back here. I'll be fine."
"Good because-"
Eddie had stopped him from continuing the sentence with a kiss. One part of him kissed Richie because he felt like it and he could do that now since they were together. And the other part of him did it because they wouldn't be able to be this close in Derry which sucked. But Eddie was okay because it was just a year.
A year seemed like nothing compared to all the years he loved and pined after Richie, and it really seemed like nothing compared to these last awful months he had.
The two boys pulled apart from one another and Richie gave him a toothy grin. "So you ready to go?" he asked, tightening his grip on the shorter boy.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
They got in the truck and Eddie immediately rested his head on Richie's shoulder. Mike looked at them and gave Ben a pat on the shoulder as he smiled widely at his friends. He started up the car and then they were off. They got out of New York a few hours later.
A/N: Hey guys! The next chapter is gonna be super short. I keep saying this but I really do appreciate everyone who has read this book. It means the absolute world to me. I never really thought people would get into this story so I'm really happy, shocked, and grateful that so many people have read it.
The story isn't exactly over but it's basically getting there. I don't feel the need to keep it going because the gone boy has been found and he's no longer gone.
If you have any reddie fanfic suggestions, especially your own reddie or it stories, then comment! I'm gonna try to check them out. I've been in need of a good story.
My next main focus will probably be Jessie's Boy, Friends, or Remember Me. Which one catches your eye the most? As of right now, I'm invested in Jessie's Boy but who knows!
Anyway, I'm grateful to all of you. The fandom might not be at it's strongest point but I'm sure that'll change soon. The next chapter is the last chapter and then there's a little summary about what happens after. Then that's it.
SO ONCE AGAIN, thank you to everybody who has taken the time to read this book. I really enjoyed writing it. It's been a very fun experience and I hope to keep writing for reddie in the future. As I recently said, they're my otp.
I love you all! I hope you all have a good day or night. You're all very special to me and I don't know what I would do without any of you so thank you!!!
