"Those happy hours we once knew, though long ago, they still make me blue. They say that time heals a broken heart but time has stood still since we've been apart."
-Ray Charles
(I Can't Stop Loving You, Ray Charles)
Almost everything in Bill Denbrough's life was going okay. He had Stanley by his side all of the time, he had amazing friends, and he got his little brother back. The only thing missing was Eddie. Beverly, Stan, and Bill hadn't heard from the other three. They were expecting and hoping that he would be found easily. Now that Bill had Georgie back, it seemed like Eddie being okay was possible too. All he could do was hope for the best.
Things were slowly coming together for the losers again, the ones who were in Derry anyway. Beverly's father had gone to prison, so she got to move in with her aunt. For the first time in forever, she felt free. Bill was much happier since Georgie was back in his life. He kept his brother by his side at all times. Stanley never really had anything to complain about, but he felt better with his life by seeing Bill so happy. That's all he ever wanted to see.
Bill's parents were only focused on their missing son being found. Bill didn't mind it anymore, he had Stanley. Stan would give Bill all of the attention in the world. He noticed small things and he cared. That's all Bill wanted. He had Stanley, Georgie, and the rest of the losers. That to him was his family.
Ever since George came home, he had been having nightmares. Instead of sleeping in his own room, he stayed in Bill's and the two would share his bed. They stayed up late and would always talk to one another. Most of the time, Bill would tell George a bedtime story while they sat under one big blanket with their flashlights on. He would make them adventurous, exciting, and they would always have a happy ending. Bill would do anything to bring a smile to his brother's face. Georgie hated to be alone and Bill hated if he was alone. That's why they would stay together.
Today was a regular day for Bill. His parents were at work and he was left to take care of Georgie since it was summer break and they had no other place to be. He sat on his bed and watched George sleep, every now and then he would jerk and mutter something that Bill couldn't put together.
Bill jumped up when he heard a knock on the door. He rushed out of his room and made his way to the noise. On these long days, Stanley would usually come over. He was good with Georgie and he kept Bill company.
Bill pulled open the door a little bit and peeked his head around to see if it was Stan. When he saw his boyfriend, a smile slowly made it's way to his face. "H-hi, Stanley," Bill stuttered while opening the door fully.
