I yawned as I sat up in bed, clicking my mouth and making "nyam, nyam" noises. The dawn was just barely rising, which I took as a good sign. I turned over and saw that Adoray was passed out on a comfy chair that had been moved in, legs splayed to the side and arms drooping over the chair's arms.
I saw him while I was rubbing my eyes, yawning again largely because I was so tired. The dawn was continuing to rise, and since it was very pretty coming up from the east, I leaned against the headboard and stared at it.
The warmth of Glaedis graced my skin first, chirping birds reviving for the next day with innumerable sounds. It sounded ungraceful, but if you tried your hardest you could make something out of it and sing along, which was what I did. I almost started singing the lyrics to one EXO song I knew from Kagome, my introverted friend, until I remembered Adoray existed.
"Tch," I scoffed, remembering he was there. He sneezed as if he knew I was thinking about him, human shaped nose twitching like a little fox.
It didn't suit him. I mean, it did because he was part fox, but the nose thing...it was too cute for his character.
I lay there while listening to activities come into fruition around me, people waking up from the uncomfortable sleep they had after passing out on their desks while trying to pull an all-nighter, someone stumbling down the hallway, some squirrel coming and scaring off all the birds, the usual.
I didn't know the usual for this place, but it seemed correct enough.
As if someone shocked him with magic (I didn't, I'm ten feet away! How dare you accuse me, Takuya!), Adoray bolted out of his sleep and stood up instantly, going to his desk and plopping down, starting to work on his papers like he never left.
"Honey? What about the hot night you promised me?" I asked while pulling up my covers, using a bit of mana to inflect my voice to sound like a sexy woman. Why not play with him a bit? He seemed all disoriented, and I loved messing with disoriented people. Takuya used to do it to me, so why not do it to others? Show off what I learned from the best?
All I saw was a pair of fox ears popping up from behind the file cabinet separating the bed, which was directly left from the door, from the office space on the other side of it.
He gulped, wondering what the hell he did last night. Adoray didn't move for a bit as he thought to himself.
"Honey? Ho~ney~?" I sweetened my tone to something any man would die for. I had never tried this out on anyone else, not wanting to feel the consequences of my father reprimanding me for such things. Out of all things I didn't want, being caught by my parents was something high up on the list.
It's not like I pull stupid stuff like this all the time.
That's heavy with sarcasm and...a teaspoon of truth? Sounds about right.
"I don't have a girlfriend anymore..." I heard him mumble to himself in reassurance that he was not drunk and didn't ruin his life, stupefied, as he stood up to look over the file cabinets with wide eyes.
But wait, he managed to secure a girl at one point? How long did he manage to keep her, a day? An hour?
A millisecond? Wait, to say you are boyfriend and girlfriend, you need at least five seconds.
Six seconds? Before they broke up. And how long ago was this? I was slightly curious...
"That's right, you're a shut-in, you hikikomori," I dropped the woman's voice halfway through and let hard, cold reality sink it. "Did I get'cha?" I blinked my lashes rapidly, turning my big doe eyes towards him with a sweet smile.
