Two years of blissful, uninterrupted peace passed. Sure, there were some hiccups along the way, but that's normal. As far as my family knew, I was a (mostly) normal child and we didn't have to deal with adventures, Demons, or anything out of the ordinary for a long time. Even my eyes, which had been messed up for some time, healed from the blindness after I made a bunch of potions and tried them out. My natural magic healing Skill was probably the main cause for it, even though no one believed when I told them.

Knight was very active during this time, dealing with Demon summonings, Fonce cult members, annoying Church people, and sadly lots more. My reputation among people I was bound to take down someday grew, and there were many people who feared my name. By people, I mean the types that were dabbling in things they shouldn't.

More than a few Church members became vegetables by my hand, having been sent to kill me whenever I popped up somewhere. Honestly, they had such a hard time dealing with me because I could be in Chardrent one moment, and the far side of Zueltina the next. I'd been to almost every single continent in the world now, except for the place of the gods that was hidden away and the tiny, uncountable strings of countries above and below it. I chose not to mess with anything I didn't want trouble from.

I busted five nobles for messing with black magic in half a year, which showed that the country was slowly becoming more corrupted. I was a sort of antidote, cleaning out the plague. I was the only one that seemed to think that, since they always cursed at me till the end.

For my fourth birthday, my parents decided to take me to the capital, where tensions were getting very heated because the war was continuing yet another year. That was only in the upper hierarchies, because many important nobles had been removed, but the people were anxious as well. The economy was slowly tanking because of crops that didn't come out well, and farmland that had been overwhelmed with Demons that finally broke through the Passage's mountains to spill ever so slightly into Bytriste. The stress of the Demon Knight had take care of two years ago had caused a whole squadron of Knights to be drawn from the battlefield by the Church in an attempt to staunch the damage, but while it was taken care of, too many resources were wasted in move them back to the battle.

Even the Blessed Day was unable to be completely rid of unease.

     Anyway!

This was the third time my family had ever taken me to the capital, even though I'd been there plenty of other times for my...work.

The twins had their official debut into society less than one year ago, since they were five turning six in Avril, and I was to have mine next year. All the little noble children their age had a tea party, forming connections already before they went off to school. Yes, the children would soon go off to primary school, even though our dear combat maid and I had already taught them up to sixth grade level of everything. As far as magic went, they were basically tiny sages.

Father had gone off on his campaign and hadn't come back for over a year, so it was just the three other children than me and Mother after I brought her back from her trip. Anthem had officially integrated into the system of soldiers and had gone off to war as well, so he obviously didn't come.

Lounging around on Grandfather's lap as he doted on me, I smiled and laughed. Chord and Grandmother, quiet types, got along really well as they knit together. Hera and Adri were off at another tea party, mingling with children right now. I was in no way jealous, since my previous experiences of trying to make friends always crashed and burned.

Family was the best after all.

     They had to love you.

My birthday and Mother's came and passed, and then everyone went to bed. It was such a wondrous time that I was so irritated when my alarm went off.
