A few days later, I was back in my home and greeted with a mother asking if anything weird was done to me.
I pushed her away with an odd face, Thérèse knocking her on the head.
I completely forgot what a special day New Years-which was called the Blessed Day here-was until after the fireworks I made for the children were exhausted, and they themselves were put to bed. Mother and Father knew I was adult enough to know when to go to bed, so they left me be as I sat in he field and gazed at the stars with just Anthem, passing time.
I had a heart-to-heart talk with him about what he thought about life here, how his sister was doing. About Knight.
There was a certain crisis avoided when he asked to meet her with me, to thank her.
Uh, no.
"I don't go to her, she comes to me."
And then, after Anthem left to the barracks where he chose to stay, I went inside to my bed and collapsed at three in the morning.
Little did I know that I would be awakened six hours later, at dawn.
"WHYYYYYYY..." I groaned. I didn't really need to sleep, but that had been a really nice dream about sushi, web novels, and going out with friends.
"If you don't get up, you'll miss your own party!" Magaris argued.
"Parteeee?"
"Party. Now get up you lazy bum, it's time to celebrate!"
"Ah!" I remembered. It's my birthday! And Mother's too!
Instantly, while dashing through the halls naked and scaring many bystanders, I found my mother's room.
"Mother!"
"Daughter!" She yelped, mystified that I was there. Father was already up and dressed, Mother in the process.
"Happy birthday!" We exclaimed in unison as I jumped at her, face full of smiles and naked body suddenly clothed in mana.
"Good morning to you, too," Father sighed while walking towards us, where the door was.
"Good morning to you too, Father!" I floated into his path and onto his shoulders, giggling. "It's our birthday! I'm sooooo happy! What're we going to do today?" I leaned around and looked at his face, then pulled back as I rattled off on my fingers, "Go hunting for a Terror in Basusda?! Have a spar in the yard?! Oh! Or make some mana potions I learned from watching Adoray?! You know, a quick hop to the ocean doesn't sound bad either!"
"Your idea of fun is a little out of my ability range..." Father gave a hopeless smile.
"Hm, then what can we do?" I asked, calming down a bit.
"Bake a cake?"
"No!" Father and I both paled and whipped our heads around to Mother.
"You will never go near the kitchen again!" Magaris finally caught up and was panting outside the door. My room was on another floor and part of the house, so of course it took some time.
"I've been practicing..." Mother pouted and looked off to the side while slipping into a bright yellow shirt.
"Do you think we don't know?" I looked at her, still shocked.
