Have a blast, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Parties can be grand, food and friends and social people to meet...
...they said.
No. I wish I never came to this. I wish I was in a coma for another month.
A month later after the incident of skydiving, my family of five and two maids, Magaris and Thérèse, left our mansion in the Koraco region. We had taken the same high speed carriage-like car that we'd used on our way to Boss's house. I had always wondered why Lady Lilly didn't take one when she picked us up in the forest, since her title and power was much more influential than ours, but I never found out.
Why were we in a carriage in the first place, you would wonder?
Well, think about it. I was in a coma for a long time, so my inner clock was all disoriented, but I knew it was for two different reasons.
Now, those reasons had two names. The first was Hera, the second was Adri. They were the first reason.
The second reason was Father. He was the official business part of our group. Visiting the Church, checking out the battle progress, meet the other nobles for some reason. That type of stuff.
But the main thing was, Hera and Adri...we're celebrating their third birthday in the capital! Wooooo~!!!
For them at least, it was a happy thing. For me, it was terrible.
Aren't you supposed to introduce young children like myself into society at age five or something?! I was only one and a half!
My debut was still many years away!
But, it was being brought forward for some reason. Not my debut, but the twins'. Their grandparents, our father's parents, wanted to see them. They were apparently joyful "old" people who wanted to brag about their grandkids and invited some of their high ranking friends over. And then, those high ranking friends decided to bring their friends with them on the guest list they received.
And so on.
So far, we knew there fifty different noble families coming, at least two hundred people. You couldn't sincerely talk to that amount of people all in one day even if you spent a few minutes with each one, so why the hell are there so many?
It was basically a large get-together under the pretense of a birthday party.
So much for remaining a normal child, unaffected by outside troubles. No, I may not have been one of the stars of the party, but I would certainly have to greet all of the families and their members as they come in. Even if I was just being held in someone's arms.
Playing dumb again...that wouldn't be fun. I mean pretending to be a baby.
But, they even bothered to tell other nobles to bring their children, so they could interact! It would be an informal debut, a practice if you will. That was their excuse. Their children were already five, seven, nine years old! No one my age, one and a half or fifteen!
And the amazing thing-the nobles agreed heartily, bringing in one, two, three children each. Some were old timers and brought no young ones, while some young nobles didn't have children yet. That was the only relief to me.
But that wasn't now. I learned that later.
As the carriage jostled around, I sighed while looking out the window. I was with Magaris and Thérèse in a small carriage, Thérèse out front driving.
Mother, Father, Hera, and Adri were in another carriage in front of us.
And we had no visible guards. The perfect prey for bandits and rogue mercenaries.
