Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-

The man's face twitched in nervousness.

Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-

He tried to turn his head away but Mother's iron grip held it in place. It was very strong, I knew from experience.

I narrowed my eyes at him as continued to stare, monologuing the onomatopoeia of someone staring. I glared even harder as his face was forced closer.

     "I swear, this baby knows."

     You better believe it dude.

My face twisted in distaste as I looked at him.

"I don't think she likes me."

"That's just your imagination. Say something to her."

I schooled my face to be blank and I smirked in my head, vague Japanese smile on my previous form. I will have fun with this one. He looked nervous as he opened his mouth and said tentatively, "Hello?"

No matter what you say and how many times you say it, I can't answer anyway, you know? Fool.

     Apparently he didn't know.

     "M-My name is...Earl?"

"Honey, is that a question or a statement? Because I hope it is the latter," Mother frowned while turning her head to me. "Be nice to Daddy, okay Fir? He's new to this."

And yet he already has two year old twins? Fat chance of being "new." So no, I don't want to be nice.

As if she knew what I was thinking, Mother scolded, "Fir!" Her lips turned up like a child denied candy.

Ugh. You know I can't resist your innocent pout. I sighed like a reluctant teenager, which I technically was. Fine.

I stopped glaring at the man and looked at him as I did for strangers. The blank baby look.

He finally relaxed and Mother stopped holding his head in place to force him to interact with his "daughter." We had less than a foot between our faces, so it was very uncomfortable. Since he didn't move his way back and instead continued staring of his own will, I frowned again and pushed my tiny hands into his face, making him give me back my personal space.

"Ah!" He claimed when my finger poked his eyes and scratched his cheeks with the little nails I had. "She hates me! For sure, she hates me!" He pulled back while massaging my face in disbelief. "What'd I ever do to you?!"

Nothing. Nothing at all. And yet, everything.

Mother picked me up and I ceased frowning, smiling like the sun had broken through the clouds.

"Fir, if you frown all the time you'll get wrinkles."

     "Au~"

     "She sure loves you..."

"What can I say? I'm her mother, she's my daughter. Right Fir? You love Mommy tons, don't you?!"

The over enthusiasm was getting to me and I shouted out, "AUU!" Just to show how much more I loved my Mother...I'm a cute child, aren't I?

"Honey, what's her name?" The man turned and looked at my mother, quizzical. It was the next day and I was currently being held by her while we were in a parlor. The two twins weren't here because it was early in the morning and the first hour of daylight had just started. It was probably too early for such young children after traveling for a long time.
