It's been a month since that party. Auntie and uncle often insist that I should stay in their home during weekdays and at my condo every weekend. In short, I am literally living with them.

I'm giving them allowances for the food and electricity, serves as rent. They tried to reject it, saying that I'm paying bills at my condo and at the same time at theirs.

So I put the money on their drawers every time I have time to sneak in.

And they gave up.

But the usual days of mine stopped when I saw someone that was familiar to me.

My father's servant, Frankenstein.

The immortal human.

He's staring at me across the street. I know it's him because of his presence. Even if he tried to suppress and hide his powers, I can sense him whenever he's near.

And that's the day my luck runs out.

Because he made a promise to me before we separated ways.

That he will look for me if ever Dad comes back.

And if he's in danger.

I can guess for the former, not the latter. That idiot is careful enough not to endanger himself.

"Cass, where are you looking?" Amelia tapped my shoulder.

I glanced at her and look back at Frankenstein. But he already left.

That's odd.

"No. I just thought of something." I said.

"You're still thinking while walking? I told you to concentrate on where you are walking!" She scolded me.

"I'm exercising my mind. I won't trip over something or nothing because I'm not staring ahead."

I always explain things to her so that she won't ask again. She's like a kid that needs tons of explanations and reasons.

It was true. I'm thinking.

Why?

I made sure that no one will find me, even Frankenstein.

But he found me.

I suppose he's watching over me wherever I go. And it's a bit creepy.

But there's also a possibility that it was just my imagination after all that idiot has more pride than me. He prefers to die alone than seeking help for his sake.

And that is his human side. Being human before having immortality.

But that image didn't leave my mind up during g lunch until we head back to Amelia's home.

"Aunt Amor, can I head to my condo first? I forgot something to bring here." I told her.

"Oh sure, dear. What is it? Can Amelia accompany you?"

"Ah, no. It's alright. I'm just going to get my dog. I can't let it alone there." I said. I might be leaving my dog to Charles every weekday but that doesn't mean I forgot him.

"Oh, I see. Is that the reason why you refused first? Go ahead, I'm going to prepare his place."

"It's alright, Auntie. He sleeps beside me. And he knows where to pee and eat."

I rushed out immediately to fetch my dog. He's not just an ordinary dog. He resembles a wolf but on a petite form and white fur.

As soon as I reached my place, my door was unlocked. I never left my place unlocked. And no one cleans it except me.

Sure enough, a blonde guy was sitting in the sitting room. He's wearing a black suit, and a ribbon replaced the tie at his neck.

Frankenstein.

He's sitting like a king at my chair, expecting to see me.

It looks like my dog hadn't noticed him.

Or ignored him.

"Hello, Cassielle. It's been a while." He greeted me.

"So it was really you," I said casually and stride towards my dog. I picked his things and wake him up.

"You won't greet me? That hurts, you know." He puts his hand over his chest like he was stricken by an arrow.

"It's about dad, right?" The dog already saw him but he ignored him. Typical dog.

"That dog has some attitude. He follows you." He commented.

"Just get to the point. Don't waste time." I stare at him, crossing my arms around my chest.

"For someone who's immortal, you're talking about time. Sounds ridiculous." He said sarcastically.

I huffed. I went towards the door when he spoke again.

"You still haven't changed all these centuries. For someone who befriended a human, that's a bit mysterious, I say. And yes it's all about master. He just woke up."

"And?" I said, not throwing a glance.

"Cass." A new voice boomed.

The voice that had been etched deep to my soul. It's father.

"Long time no see."

I turned towards my father. He's pale. Paler than our pale skin.

"What happened? You used your soul weapon again, didn't you?"

My father just looked at me. I know he's not going to apologize. I understand. It's our responsibility. Our legacy, being last in our family. Him being the head and me as the heiress.

"Musaka is dead," Dad said.

"He's with his daughter. And wife." I said.

"I killed him."

"He's on the verge of insanity and darkness. There's no cure on that. Only death can save him. Just like the others." I grabbed a knife from the drawer and tucked it inside my boots. "I've seen cases like that. I even tried to save them, but if their willpower is weak, it's futile. Musaka gave up because he lost his daughter. He lost a cause to live and move forward."

Frankenstein looked at me. He thought I'm still that naïve woman centuries ago.

"Just like Frankenstein. He knows what I'm talking about. If your loved ones or someone who's close to you died without reason on other's hands, you'll lose your rationality. Am I right Frankenstein?"

Frankenstein scoffed. I hit the spot.

"They become monsters, thirsty for revenge and death. Wishing that the lives they took will revive them. But it will not."

Father continued on staring at me before he asks. "What about you?"

"Facts. I don't believe too much on the words of the witness. Especially if they're emotionally wrecked. They might not see it in full details and they might think someone died. And information gathering is an easy task.

"But in your case dad, you won't die not fighting back. Our responsibility is our reason to fight. That's why I'm pretending to be a human, to know why we must protect them."

Frankenstein looked amused at my answer. "So it's settled then, master."

I looked at him, they already have an agreement before they came here.

"You're coming with us ... to Korea. And study together with me." My father announced.

What a surprise.
