This is one of the best days in his entire life.

But also might be his last day as a human.

He was chosen as one of the candidates for the secretarial position at the government.

Of course, he wouldn't be there if he didn't earn his way up.

He started as a humble government employee of that department up until the bosses took notice of him and Fernando Danora, also one of the employees with skills like his.

He knows that it was a tough competition, as both of them has their own unique skills and both suitable for the secretarial position.

His only advantage was his age. Unlike Fernando that was on his thirties, he's on late twenties, and few more years he'll enter thirties.

He doesn't have a family to provide needs.

And if things turned bad, no any relatives would be involved and no one will look for him.

But he didn't expect that things wouldn't turn for him.

That day would be his last day.

Their shift had ended and he's on his way to the apartment when a couple of guys cornered him in the alley he always takes as it is the fewer place people will take with its creepy feeling.

It has been rumored that a girl was seen strolling in that alley every midnight, with black long wavy hair flowing down to her waist, a long white dress touching the floor, facing the walls while staring at the moon.

No one tried to cross it as they feared that it might be a vengeful ghost and will try to hurt people who will cross her territory.

And these guys will take their chance as no one will saw his body if ever they kill him.

"Nilo Amora." The guy in front of him said.

"What do you want?" He bravely asked.

"Your death." The guy behind him stated.

His blood runs cold when both guys went towards him with a gun and a knife. Sure, a normal person can't evade a bullet as they don't have any training in dodging.

The first bullet was aimed for him in the head. Instinctively, he crouched to evade it and tried to run to the only door in the alley.

To his luck, the door wasn't locked so he entered the building with ease.

But that luck ended there. He doesn't have any place to hide inside the building.

The place looks like a nice place, with few pieces of furniture here and there, a sign that someone was living there and currently away for a job or something.

The two men who were chasing him have already destroyed the door and currently looking for him.

As a righteous man he is, he decided to escape them by going back.

But the man with the gun saw him and shoot him after he walked out of the door.

The bullet entered his lower back, damaging his kidney and caught him off balance.

He dragged himself out of the alley, but the second had him already and stabbed his back, connecting his heart.

"There, struggle if you want, but you will die here. Now, what's your last will." The man with guy said.

He's leaning by his side on the wall, looking at the two men who did this to him.

"Who asked you to kill me?"

"Well, since you're going to die, why not tell you who he is, indirectly. He's your opponent in the position you both are craving of." The man smirked.

"Well, our job is done. He's quite a handful, I say. For a guy who doesn't have any experience on fights and survival." The man wit the knife said.

"No offense, kid. We're paid to kill you. Too bad, you didn't thought about it."

The two men laughed as they left him in pain, slowly breathing, vision blurred.

He doesn't know how much time has passed, but he still breathes, waiting for someone to see him on his state.

Soon, he heard a muffled voices nearby, indicating that someone were there.

"What do you mean, where we currently hides?" A man asked.

"It's just what I say, Charles. Oh, he's there." The girl said

"By goodness sake, Cass. You already have me and Shiro. Do you really need to gain one?" Charles, the guy who spoke earlier complained.

"Stop complaining, Charles. You're not the one who's going to decide." The girl, Cass, sat in front of him. "If he wants to live he'll say it in front of me."

His vision cleared. And he saw the girl.

The girl described by the locals often seen in the middle of the night.

"Are you a ghost?" He asked.

Charles laughed. "Then what am I? A vampire?"

"Stop that." Cass said. "Young one, your will to live is so strong that any Death God would be amazed. Tell, what's the reason?"

"I want revenge." He said without any difficulty.

He didn't mind the pain he's experiencing at all, she can help him.

"Same as yours, Charles." Cass said without looking at Charles. "You want to get even to the person who did this to you?"

"Y-yes. I don't care if I die later, I want to get even." He said. But his body is getting weaker.

"Well then, that's settled." Cass announced. "I, Cassielle Elise D. Raizel, form a contract to you, binding your mortal form to the Earth, my soul as your anchor. You Saiki, name you Danilos."

He glowed and feel so light, not knowing he turned to a weapon.

When the light dissipated, a samurai blade was in Cass' hand.

"Hello, Daniel. Welcome to the family. In a few months, you'll be fine and you can plot the revenge thingy you want."

And that's how Daniel met Cass and start living with them.
