A week.

It's been a long, lengthy, occupied, and a busy week for me.

Did I just make some redundant words?

Oh well.

Nevermind.

Indeed that my week was bus, but uneventful. No scandalous scenes, abduction, damaged property, injured allies, or anything.

Just my ordinary busy schedule of paperworks, training, and school.

And I really wish I can drop the school.

But it's already in the middle ofthe semester, so I can't.

So I'm going to slack off and cut class. Just attending for the exams and practical.

Call me lazy but I'm not on the mood.

I told the teachers to give me special projects to make up for the absences I'm going to have.

At least they're easy to talk to. They understand my situation, being a businesswoman and such. Even if it superficial, they thought that was hard. As I don't have a background education in high school but I'm handling a huge empire employing thousands of people around the world.

The Union was getting suspicious about their missing pawns last 2 weeks or so. That's why I'm stopping the hunt for now. Jason might get wind of that and do something again.

Normal routines were done for the whole week: office, the lab, training, and the kitchen.

Yes, I'm the boss of the kitchen. And no one, except Seira and Frankie, are allowed to touch the utensils or they have a death wish.

I am the dietitian of the house, balancing their food intake forcing them to bring lunch. I also ensure their training are on good track, not slacking a bit.

But at the end of the week, some weres visited the laboratory. I didn't expect Garda will came. So as the other who betrayed Uncle Muzaka. Well, I don't care.

I'm just doing my job to revive Uncle.

"Uncle, I wish Ashleen is here with you so that you won't be in a state like this." I said out of nowhere while looking at his vital stats on a screen at the tube where he's contained.

"At least, you won't be drowned in anger and sadness." I continued. "Things happened much in these millennia since you and dad disappeared without a trace. As much as I want to entertain you before, I can't because I'm not used to crowds yet. And this is my only way to help you."

I rarely talk to Uncle Musaka  in his state, always watching the stats, wishing for a miracle.

But this time, I believe that he heard me.

His heartbeat went fast, back to the normal heartbeat of a were. His fingers twitched, sign that he's waking up.

I scrambled to my place. He's waking up!

When he opened his eyes, he's surprised to see me. But he calmed down when I talked to him.

"Calm down, uncle. I'm going to call dad and Frankie right away. Okay? Can you bear a little there suspended in the liquid?" I asked him while dialing at my phone.

He nodded as an answer and still staring at him while waiting for Frankie to answer his phone.

"Frankie, pull out dad from his class. Uncle's awake. Now." I hanged the call and start to drain the liquid slowly out of the tube and assisted Uncle to rest in a metal table.

"How do you feel uncle? I'm sure dad would be pleased you're awake now." I said while helping his weak body and assisting him.

"I'm ... fine ..." He answered in a hoarse voice.

I nodded at his response. So far so good.

Soon after, Frankie and dad entered the lab to see me looking and checking uncle. Shock was evident at Frankie's face while dad was happy.

I know Uncle was shocked to see dad, he didn't expected that the father I'm referring to was his best friend. I walked out of the lab to let the two of them to talk and enjoy each other's company. Frankie stood by the door, out of the earshot but near enough to respond in case something happened.

I was enjoying my tea when I saw Dad with Uncle. The latter was leaning at the former, his right arm wrapped around the shoulder of the former.

"Dad, you know that there's a wheelchair there that M-21 and others use if they can't walk right?" I said, sighing.

"..." Of course, I know what he's trying to say.

"And you, uncle. Who told you to move around? You're not that strong enough to walk. You even leaned at dad for assistance." I scolded him.

Uncle Muzaka chuckled weakly. "You got your looks with him. Good thing you didn't inherited his few words for talking habit. But you're a bit emotionless."

"Mingling with humans for more than eight centuries taught me to communicate with them through words." I said.

"At least you can pass out there as a human. Unlike your father here." He said weakly.

Despite of weak body, he managed to tease dad.

I put the teacup at the small table and walked towards them. "So, do you feel you are yourself?"

He nodded. "Yeah. Unlike before. How long do you think would be my recovery?"

"It depends on your dedication, uncle. If your will and mentally strong, you can recover in a matter of weeks, tops, for physical. But for powers, that I don't know." I said honestly.

"If that's the case, why not? I can wait how many years my powers will restore, but I don't want to be a burden to you."

That made me raise a brow. "Excuse me, uncle. Who told you you're a burden? I'm helping because your clan needs you. You might have appointed someone to lead the weres, but they need your guidance as their elder. Now, if Frankie makes you feel that way, I'm going to whack him upsidedown."

Uncle's eyes were brimming with joy. He might not be able to do much things right now, but I know he wants to be back to his normal life again.

I'm going to ask you guys something. How many chapters you want this story to have? I mean, some likes it short, some want it over a hundred or so. I want to prepare my phone in case someone requested to make it a hundred or so.

I'll wait for your comments before I post another chapter.

And I apologize if this chapter is not that interesting. I'm still dazed about how fast things happen in my life.
