This is the end.
Not because I feel it, but I want it to.
We three stood and facing one another, waiting for a signal to move.
The bloodstone is shining wickedly on Jason's chest, humming with dark power.
Charles was trying to pull himself together while waiting to attack.
He might be good at fighting, but he doesn't know when to fall back unless he senses danger from enemy or I told him to.
Without any warning, Jason attacked Charles first. Obviously, he wants to eliminate his best friend as he thinks he's a hindrance.
I watched the fight, looking for Jason's weakness and linking to Charles's mind to help him.
Dodge the next attack.
Tendrils of electricity poured out of Jason's body to blast it to Charles. The latter jumped at the last second to the side, missed by an inch.
"Why can't you die? Huh! Leave Cass alone because she's mine!" Another shot came from Jason, but this time, I know he won't be able to dodge it completely.
With my speed, I tackled Charles to avoid it, having ripped clothes at the back.
"Cass!" Charles explained.
"I'm not burned yet." I stood up dusting my pants. "You've done well now, Charles. Now I'm doing it my way."
Changing my clothes into a sports tank top and loose pants, I turned towards Jason and telepathically stop him from moving.
He struggled, and when he looked at me, I can see hate in his eyes.
"Release me!" He snarled.
I kept on holding him in my mind until he breaks free and attacks me.
But this time, he's like a savage beast, surging forward and not thinking first.
He throws punches and kicks towards me, but I evade them and block it the flat of my blade.
He growled in frustration.
Using Shiro (knife), I ran fast, circling him and give him wounds all over his body.
He kneeled down. His regeneration is fast compared to his state without the stone.
But the stone has its limits.
If its energy is already burned down, the user's body will go haywire.
And that's what's happening to Jason right now.
He's screaming in pain. The stone had reached his limits. That fast.
"H-how?" He managed to say.
"The experiment is obviously a failure, Jason. You shouldn't have taken that." I said calmly.
"N-no, that's impossible! He said it was successful."
"He's lying."
Jason ends up lying on his back, facing the dark sky. I went towards him despite the protests of Charles.
"No, Cass! Don't come near him! It's not safe yet!"
Without hesitation, I kneeled beside him and grab the stone protruding in his chest and yanked it upwards.
His scream was louder this time, echoing around the empty field.
"Shiro. Danilos. Nicolos." I murmured.
The three returned to their original form behind me. Shiro sat beside me and glared at Jason.
When Jason opened his eyes, the iris returned to its original color: sapphire blue.
The gem I loved the most.
When he saw me, he smiled weakly. "Hello, Elise."
I gasped. He's back!
Charles ran towards us, to see what's happening. He, too, gasped on what he saw.
"Jace," I said.
"I'm sorry, Eli. I'm sorry." Jason said while crying.
"No, Jace. It's not your fault."
"It is." He looked at Charles. "Man, I know what I did was unforgivable, but I apologize for my stupidity."
"You're an idiot when it comes to love, especially living Cass." Charles agreed. "But it's all in the past now. And this is over."
Jason nodded. "Yes, it's all over. Charles, thank you for watching over Eli. I know that I can trust you. I'm going to apologize to Amanda also."
"He already forgave you, buddy. She knows you're controlled by an unknown force." Charles smiled. It was a sincere smile.
"But I still need to ask it from her. If ever I see her." He said and his breath hitched.
I didn't notice that my cheeks were getting wet. It's not raining, but my face is getting wet already. Jason turned towards me and wiped the liquid.
"Don't cry, Eli. The liquid wetting your cheeks is 'tear.' It came from your eyes. Don't cry for me. I don't want a memory of you in my head crying at me. If anyone saw you, they'll think I made you cry."
Jason is back to himself again. I'm 'crying.' 'Tears' are falling from my eyes. Once again, it feels like the old days.
The day we are all together, not worrying about the war or death that might fall upon us.
"They don't think, you jerk. You really made her cry, you idiot." Charles said. "Because of your stupidity, this happened. If you just accepted her as her and didn't try to follow her, I wouldn't be here or any tragic will befall into us."
"I know." Jason tried to take a breath. "It's time now, Eli. Remember I love you. Charles, buddy--"
"Don't worry, buddy. I'll follow there. Just accompany my wife there." He said confidently.
Jason gave a relieved smile. "I also want to apologize to your father, Eli. If you can deliver it."
I nodded. "He'll know that."
"We will see each other again, just wait for me."
As the last word spread in the air. The lights faded out of his eyes and he went stiff.
Jason turned gray and dissolved in the wind, turning to dust.
"To dust, we came, and so we return to it," I said as I looked at the horizon.
"I'm sorry, Cass." Charles interrupted me. "I think the party won't happen. My contract is already finished, so I think I must leave."
I looked at him first. "You won't disappear, Charles."
"What do you mean?"
"Because I didn't use your weapon form to kill Jason," I explained. "So you're stuck with me for eternity."
He looked at me like I was joking.
Daniel slapped his shoulder. "Too bad, Charles. You will not leave us. Your wish will not come true."
Nico and Daniel laughed at him.
"WHAT!!!"
