The hunt was successful two days ago. The Union doesn't have any clues or pieces of evidence as to why their members keep on disappearing on the face of the planet.

Besides, Jason doesn't know I'm a noblesse, so he won't be able to tell any details to the elders of the Union.

All he knows is that I'm immortal, but can be killed.

And I'm sure that's the only information he can tell them.

"Hey, Dan," I called Daniel inside my office. I brought Nico along so he won't be bored. Shiro always accompanies me wherever I go.

"Yeah, what is it?" He asked putting his head between the doors.

"Can you infiltrate Union's database without any trace?" I asked out of nowhere.

"I'm not sure with the 'without any trace' part, but I can try hacking their system if you want. Trying to look for something?"

I shook my head. "I just want to know if they have access to any country's government. If ever they do, it would be so easy for them to slip under their [the government] noses, pretending nothing abnormal is happening."

Daniel stared at me. Then he entered the office and sat beside Nico and Shiro.

"Are you telling me--?" He trailed in his words.

I nodded for confirmation. I have ties in the monarchy in other countries that are still ruled under by that kind of government.

I'm kind of their secret advisor. So I can pull some strings if I wanted to. But I'm not a power hunger person to do those things.

I'm just keeping them from being idiots and declare war accidentally or intentionally to other countries.

And I'm sighing too much for this day. Dung life.

Not too soon, Charles barged the room. Of cours,e he won't bother knocking, he already notified he's coming.

"Yes?" I asked, not bothering to look at him.

"Nothing. Just bored." He answered as plopped down to the sofa beside Nico.

I snorted. The words 'bored', 'boring', and other similar words like that isn't included in every statement he had for almost two century.

"What?! Is that surprising?" He jolted from his seat.

"Of course it is, you idiot," Daniel spoke out of nowhere. He's already holding a folder.

"Here. A proposal from a branch company in Bolivia." He placed it on the table. "Good thing you finished some of your papers, it didn't pile up like the last time. You barely ate anything just to finish those."

"Dang it!" I exclaimed. "Why the hell did I chose to build an empire?"

All of them laughed at my comment.

Days went at a normal pace. Papers, meetings, hunting, strategic meeting, letters, and etc. The time I can train is after the hunt, it's probably from two in the morning until the sun rises.

At least I don't have the so-called eyebags that humans have.

That black and saggy portion below your eyes making you look like a zombie.

I'm telling you, they look horrible to a person who has that.

I'm starting to get pissed off. I mean, I kept on hunting tons of Union members, but Jason still hasn't done any move yet.

I already talked to other countries about my dilemma, and fortunately, they agreed to it.

The Union is only known in Korea, they were affiliated to them before, as what Frankie had told me, so that would be an easy feat for me. Despite having tons of branches in different countries.

My plan is already executed. Now, it's Frankie's time to shine.

"Did you already told Frankie about our 'plan'?" I asked casually.

Of course, Charles was the one who planned that. I really don't like it at first, as my only agenda was to avoid conflict between countries.

And I didn't think that I'm going to use it now.

"Yep." He answered lazily. "It's my brilliant plan, my dear Cass. I'm going to make sure it won't fail."

Despite mingling with humans for a long time, I'm still not used to human's emotions. I can't quite understand it.

That's why I can't muster an adequate emotion to him a response to his answer.

"Huh. Really now." I said. "If you did, can you bring Nico and Shiro outside? I'm sure they are bored to death right now, just looking at me doing these paperwork. For days now."

"Who will be with you?" Charles asked.

"Daniel will be here anytime now. I just sent him out to buy a dark house blend coffee near." I said.

"You're planning to hole up in here?"

"Of course not. I want to relax a bit. After all, I kept on doing these things for the past days. Coffee and tea are the things that calm me. But for now, I'll enjoy the coffee while doing paperwork."

Charles rolled his eyes at my answer. "What a decent answer, Cass. Really? You're going to use your office as a bedroom? Next time order a queen size bed so that you'll just walk a few steps and sleep." He answered sarcastically.

Here we go. Charles is back to his sarcastic self.

"Nevermind. We'll go ahead now. I'm sure Daniel will be here sooner than we might think. That one is so overprotective towards you." He said. "We'll be back at seventeen."

I nodded as thanks as he closes the door and left me alone in my office.

Deciding to wait for the coffee I asked Daniel, I went to the window overlooking the city and appreciate its beauty despite being a metropolitan and the technology surrounding the city.

It might not be relaxing compared to the mountain and forest, at least it eases my mind a little bit.

And unfortunately, it also makes me caught off guard.

As I turn around towards the door to greet Daniel, the last thing I remember was a terrible smell and a dizzying effect of that solution.

Dung, it's chloroform.

That's the last thing I thought before I succumbed to darkness and close my eyes.

A/N:
I know some of you guys who read this doesn't like too much author's notes and some announcements in between of chapters, that's why I'm putting it often at the end of some chapters. (Because I'm also one. It's a hassle, in my opinion.)

So, I think the 'Me' will be deleted soon so that you guys can have a continuous reading on my work. Just remove my story in your library and return it again in case you still have the 'Me' section....

Thanks guys! :)
