ZOE'S POV

"How's everybody? I can't wait to see them, I missed you guys so much." I told Mom.

"They're doing okay. They missed you a lot, specially Aunt Julie. She missed you like crazy. Mila and Miranda asked about you every time I went to Nana's house." she chuckled.

Mila and Miranda are my little cousins. Mila's five and Miranda's four. I spent a lot of time with them since they see me as an older sister.

"I can't wait to see them!" I said anxiously.

"Don't worry honey, I'll take you to see them." my mom replied.

"Yesss pleaseee" I replied before I laughed lightly as Ma entered the SUV to the garage.

As we got out of the SUV, I grabbed a few of my bags, Mom helping me with the others. As I opened the door screams filled the room.

"SURPRISE!" voices shouted.

"Wha-- you guys!" I said surprised once I saw my family inside the house, with Rosie, and Maya.

"Welcome home honey." my dad said before hugging me tightly.

"I missed you dad." I said hugging him back.

"I missed you too princess." he replied.

"Zo! Zo!" Mila and Miranda screamed as they ran towards me, then tackling me so bad we ended up falling.

"I missed my little princesses so much. Give me a bear hug! I miss them!" I said before they hugged me tightly.

I later hugged the rest of my family. My aunts, uncles and cousins.

"Honey, we're making a barbeque and Mila and Miranda are getting in the pool." Mom said.

"Okay, I'll go put my swimsuit." I replied. I pulled my mom by her wrist so we could talk alone.

"Ma, can Zack come? I mean, dad should meet him. Plus, this way Zack could get to know the family better." I said nervously.

"Talk to your father. Tell him you're in a relationship. Then, ask him if he can come okay? Because him showing up out of nowhere would make your father go crazy alright?" she said chuckling at the end.

"Alright." I replied.

Minutes later, I went up to my room to leave all my bags and get changed. Before I put away all my bags and such, I changed into my swimsuit. My phone started ringing, I looked at the screen which revealed the caller ID, Zack.

"Hey baby." he said as soon as I picked up.

"Hey. Did your dad pick you up yet?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's actually listening to us right now. You're on speaker." he said. 'Fuck' I mumbled. I didn't want to meet him by the phone!!

"Hello Zoe. It's nice to meet you." I could hear Zack's dad, George, saying in the background.

"The pleasure is all mine, sir." I said politely.

"Oh please, call me George. 'Sir' makes me feel old." he replied before he let out a chuckle.

"Okay." I chuckled in response. "Hey babe! My family just surprised me at home and we're about to make a barbeque, I'm about to talk to dad about us and then I'll ask if you can come and meet the family okay?" I asked scared to death.

"Okay." he replied with a lower tone.

"Don't be nervous... Yet." I said laughing lightly.

"Ha-ha-ha... Very funny." he replied.

"I'll text you later, bye." I said quickly before ending the call.

I went back to the living room where my family was talking and laughing distinctly. I called my dad and signalled him to come closer.

"Can we talk upstairs?" I asked nervously before his smile faded, now forming a frown.

"Yeah of course, what's wrong?" he replied worried.

"Can we just talk upstairs?" I asked again, he nodded.

We walked up the stairs before we entered my room.

"You're worrying me Zo." My dad said.

"I don't know how to tell you this so I'm going to blurt it out. I have a boyfriend. We met at camp. We're getting to know each other and I think he's great." I said confidently.

My dad looked at me serious before he clenched his jaw. Oh God. I'm dead.

"Look dad, I know I'm your only daughter and that I'm your princess but me having a boyfriend will never change that. I love you dad. You will always have a huge part of my heart." I said with watery eyes.

Okay so I know what y'all are thinking. It wasn't bullshit. My parents and I are really close even though their jobs keep us from spending time together.

"I love you so much honey. Thank you for trusting me even though you know how jealous I can get. I want to meet him, he seems like a really nice person." He said smiling before hugging me.

"Of course you'll meet him dad! Just say a day and time, and I'll arrange everything." I said smiling widely.

"How about now? I mean, Uncle Dave is preparing the barbeque right now and the family's here so we can all gather and you know." He said nervously.

"Um yeah. I'll call him and ask if he's free." I said shocked. I literally didn't expect that, at all.

"Okay." He said before smiling slightly and leaving my room.
