C07: I Have Fallen

ZOE'S POV

*ONE WEEK LATER*

A week and a day have passed since I got here. We've had a variety of activities. The next event we have is tonight, a Masquerade Ball. Us, the campers, have the opportunity to invite 2 people.

"So who did you invite to the Masquerade ?" Lexi asked while she looked for her outfit in her closet.

"You'll just have to wait and see." I said exaggerating a mysterious tone.

"Can you do my hair, pleeeeease?" Lexi asked in a little girl's voice.

"Sure. As soon as I finish with mine." I assured.

Maya walked into the cabin.

"Where's Aileen?" Lexi asked Maya, while she was now looking for her shoes.

"She's with Isaac." Maya said annoyed. " They're inseparable. I want Aileen back!" Maya screamed.

"I know Maya but, we should be happy for her. You know she's had a huge crush on Isaac since Day 1 and they're finally talking ." I said. "Plus you have been just like that with Shawn these past few days, so don't complain." I added chuckling teasingly.

"I guess you're right" she replied smiling.

"Is your outfit ready?" I asked Maya.

"Yeah. Everything's set. Should I go and shower first or are you?" Maya asked me.

"Go ahead, I already did." I answered.

"Okay." she said.

MAYA'S POV

Memories started rushing through my mind as water ran down my face. It was all Shawn. Shawn Ortega. The boy who has broken the chains that kept my feelings tide. The boy who went beyond my expectations. He confessed his feelings yesterday and already has me wrapped around his fingers.

*flashback*

"Remember the time I told you that I would eventually fall for you?" he asked smiling.

I simply said "Yeah."

"I think that day is today." he said smiling widely. I could see the joy in his face.

I stayed quiet.

"Please say something. This is killing me." he said impatiently.

"It took you long enough." I said laughing.

"You scared me, you little dwarf!" he said laughing. He calls me 'dwarf' because of my height.

He hugged me tight.

"Don't let me go." I said thinking out loud.

"I won't." he answered with a powerful smile.

*end of flashback*

He came into my life without a notice. He barged into my comfort zone asking for feelings in return. I felt uncomfortable at first. I mean, I've never paid attention to boys and love.

I thought relationships were pointless and empty. Just based on appearences. I was clearly wrong because now I know I have fallen for Shawn Ortega.

I had writer's block but then came up with the idea of making a chapter based on Maya's POV, which IRL, she's a very important person in my life so I just felt like giving Maya more importance in the story and just enjoying a piece of her thoughts for a little while.
