C27: Took You Long Enough

"Come here." Zack said opening his arms.

"I'm sorry." I said to his chest as he hugged me tightly.

"Sorry for what?" He asked stroking my hair.

"I'm sorry for making you listen all abput my past relationship and for involving you in all this drama. You shouldn't be going through all this." I said.

"Don't be silly Zo. I'm your boyfriend. I'll always be by your side." He said before he kissed me.

"I don't want you to feel like you're pressuring me into thus relationship ok?" He stated after we pulled away.

"Okay" I replied.

"Let's go inside. We shouldn't miss Physics, we'll fail. We'll fail either way but it's worth a shot." He said laughing.

"Yeah, shouldn't." I replied chuckling.

The day went perfectly after that moment. I saw Blake at the cafeteria and a few times in the hallways but he didn't talk to me again. He didn't even try. I was getting worried. Lexi had just texted me insisting on talking to me after school.

*TEXT MESSAGES*

"You're gonna wanna listen to what I have to say." She said.

"Alright. Come to my house at 5 pm. We'll talk and we'll watch movies. I'll ask if it's ok for you to stay the night." I replied.

"Sounds like a plan. See you there. " She wrote.

The bell rang. It's 2:50 pm and I'm currently waiting for Zack by his car since he's my ride home.

"Took you long enough." I said to Zack as he unlocked the car's doors.

"I'm sorry, Noah wouldn't stop rambling about how he told Lexi that he loves her. He took her back to camp. By the lake, where they first saw each other." He said smiling as he opened the passenger door for me. I got in. He walked to the driver's side, opened the door and sat down. He turned on the engine, then the A/C.

"Good for Noah. He finally told her he loves her. I'm sure that's what Lexi wanted to talk to me about." I said. Zack hasn't said 'i love you' yet. It makes me wander if he considers this a serious relationship or not.

I mean, it's been almost 2 months since we became a couple so I'm not even sure if he loves me. I'm certain that I love him though. I just don't know if he feels the same way.

"Zoe I..." He said before making a long pause.

"You what?" I asked. Oh god, he's going to say it. I think I'm starting to panic.

"I'm hungry. Are you hungry?" he said. Never mind. I knew it, I knew it. He doesn't love me. Why would he love though? He's way out of my league.

"Always." I replied, pushing aside my thoughts.

"Where too then?" He asked.

"Uhh... You're supposed to be my ride home. So I guess, my house." I said.

"No, we're hungry so let's go eat. Where too?" He said again.

"I have the best boyfriend." I said smiling.

"Everything for my queen." He said placing his right hand on my thigh.

"Correction: I have the corniest boyfriend." I corrected as I laughed.

"Then, no food for you miss." He said with a deep voice as he pointed at me. Oh my god, what are we? Five?

"What? Nooo! I'll do anything! Pleaseee." I pretended to be crying before his face formed a smirk.

"Anything?" He asked.

"No, not anything, Mr.Horny" I answered chuckling.

"McDonald's. Let's go to McDonald's" I said smiling.

"McDonald's? We can go anywhere and you choose McDonald's?" He asked.

"Yes. I know how much you love hamburgers with extra bacon and extra cheese, I mean, I love them too, so that's the perfect place." I said smiling.

"Let's go then." He said as he started driving towards our destination.

A few minutes later, we got to McDonald's and Zack went to order our food as I chose a table and sat there. A few moments later, he came to the table with our food and sat down. It was quiet but it was comfortable. I like having his company. I love it.

He mumbled something but I wasn't able to understand.

"Huh?" I asked confused.

"I said, I love you. Every little thing about you. Like when you're hungry, you get mad, bored, annoying and insane. When you stare at me in every class we have together and think I don't notice. When you pretend that you don't understand a problem in math so I come over to your house and help you which is ironic because you are the smartess person I know. I love you, I've known since our first kiss." He said taking my hands into his.

I wasn't able to speak. I was paralyzed. Tears escaped from my eyes. I just looked down to our hands.

"Zoe, you're scaring me. Say something." He said worried.

"Took you long enough." I said before laughing, drying my tears with my sweater's sleeves.

"I love you too. You have no idea how much." I said smiling.

"You scared the shit out of me." He said smiling widely.

"Now eat your food!" I said laughing.

We ate our hamburgers and he took me home. It was perfect. My life is getting better by the second. I wander how long will the happiness last. You know what they say, 'nothing lasts forever'.
