Shawn and I were driving back to my apartment in the city after a long day spent with my parents. My hands gripped the wheel tight. I was afraid that if I loosened my grip, I would fall asleep.
"Pull over" Shawn said. I was surprised by him saying this, so I asked why. "Because you're exhausted and it's not safe to drive like this honey. I'll drive the rest of the way. I know the route and it's not that long of a drive." I obliged and let him take the wheel. As soon as he started to drive off, I fell asleep, grateful for my caring boyfriend.
