Shawn and I were cuddled up under a couple of blankets in the living room of our shared home, feeling cold. It was the middle of winter and the blankets were barely helping.

"I'm freezing." Shawn said.

"Shawn, you're from Canada where it's farther up and colder than it is now, how are you so cold?" I asked.

"Because... well I can't think of a reason why but just because." He said. I tipped my head back with laughter. All of the sudden, the power went out.

"Oh God Y/n," Shawn said "We're going to die. This is it. This is how it ends."

"Shawn, calm your shit. The power went out, we're not going to die. Let me call the electric company." I said.

Some hours passed and the power was still out. Shawn still wasn't happy, and by now, my anxiety was starting to set in.

"It's freezing," I said as we laid under five blankets "We're going to freeze to death."

"No we're not, we never froze to death in Canada." Shawn said.

"Honey?" I asked.

"Yes my baby?" Shawn responded

"Can you sing to me? Maybe Never Be Alone?" I asked. He smiled before he started to sing. As he was singing, halfway through the song, the power came back on.

"YES!" Shawn cheered as we high fived. "You know what this calls for, right baby?" He asked.

"No." I said.

"A kiss." He said with a smile and I happily obliged.
