186. For Yusra

I recently got my period, which I am not happy about. I get really bad cramps, and sometimes I even faint from the pain being so bad. My mood swings also get really bad too. My boyfriend of two years, Shawn Mendes, tries to understand my mood swings as much as he can, but sometimes he gets frustrated or upset. Today, he was getting upset and frustrated while we sat in our living room.

"Yusra, can't you calm down for one second?" He yelled, tugging at his curls.

"Shawn, I'm trying, but these mood swings and cramps are killing me." I said.

"Well the mood swings are killing me too. Why don't you just go away or something?" Shawn asked while yelling. Oh my God. He's never said something like that before. He wants me to go away when I need him the most? Oh no. Suddenly, I felt a panic attack coming on.

"Shawn I need you." I said, panicking.

"Yusra, I said to go away." He said.

"Shawn, I -" I started to speak but fell to the floor instead. He looked at me. Now he looked like he was panicking.

"Oh no. Are you having a panic attack?" He asked. I sat down, it's the only way that I feel safe during a panic attack. I started to shake violently. "Oh no." I heard Shawn said before he rushed over to me. He started to rub my back. I looked at him.

"I'm having a pan - panic attack." I said while still shaking violently.

"Okay, okay, let's breathe, okay? Deep breath in, now out." Shawn said. I did what he said. "Good, now let's do that again, okay? Do you want me to sing to you?" Shawn asked. I nodded. He started to sing A Little Too Much to me. After that, he sang Understand. I still wasn't fully calmed down by then, so he sang Hold On. That calmed me down. I stopped shaking and fell into Shawn's arms.

"I'm so sorry Shawn. I'm so sorry." I said.

"Why are you sorry baby girl?" Shawn asked while rubbing my cheek with his thumb.

"I feel bad because I had a panic attack and because of the mood swings." I said.

"It's okay, I should have been more understanding." Shawn said. I nodded.

"I love you Shawn." I said.

"I love you too Yusra." He said, and with that, he kissed me. I felt sparks shootout like fireworks throughout my body, I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, and I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my stomach. The feelings that Shawn gives me are amazing and they calm me down. I love Shawn so much.
