I still live in the house that I grew up in and, when he could, Shawn would come over and visit me. I was sitting on the lounge chair in my bedroom when there was a knock at my bedroom door.

"Come in." I said. My handsome boyfriend Shawn walked in with a smile on his face. His caramel eyes looked into my eyes and I quickly glanced down at his lips before averting my gaze back to his eyes. He was wearing jeans and an army green hoodie, the one that he knows I love.

"Hi gorgeous." Shawn said as he walked over to me and leaned down to give me a hug and a kiss.

"Hi handsome." I said after we pulled away from each other's embrace. "Come to visit me?" I asked

"Of course. I love visiting you. Do you mind?" Shawn asked. He's so sweet.

"No, of course not! Do you want to sit down with me?" I asked Shawn. Shawn nodded his head before letting me move my legs so he could sit down. I placed my legs on his lap and his hand immediately rested on my shins. I smiled at his touch before leaning in to kiss him. He reciprocated the kiss and I felt sparks throughout my body and butterflies flew around in my stomach.

"I love you Shawn." I said.

"I love you too Y/n." Shawn responded.

Shawn stayed for a while and we both ended up getting really tired. I didn't want Shawn to drive while he was this tired.

"I'll be right back babe." I said to Shawn.

"Where are you going?" He whined.

"To the living room, I have to talk to my mom for a second." I said.

"Everything alright?" Shawn asked, a look of concern etched across his face.

"Yeah, I just want to ask her a question real quick." I said.

"Okay." He responded before I walked out into the living room where my mom was and sat down on the couch so I could whisper.

"Mom, I know I'm twenty-one and Shawn is twenty-two, and I feel weird asking this, but can Shawn sleepover? We're both really tired and I don't want him to drive like this." I asked.

"Of course. You guys can sleep in my bed and I'll take your bed. I trust you guys not to do anything." My mom said.

"Mom! You know that I'm waiting for marriage." I said. I could feel my face turn red. She just laughed at my reaction.

"I know, I know, I just wanted to be sure you knew." She said.

    "Okay, thanks mom!" I said.

"You're welcome sweetie." She responded. I walked back into my room to find Shawn in the same position: sitting up with his back against the wall, but his eyes were closed.

"Shawn?" I said. He immediately opened his eyes and smiled when he saw me. I reciprocated the smile.

"I'm sorry Y/n, I'm just really tired, I think that I should head back to my place. I'm so sorry baby." Shawn said with a look of sadness on his face.

"Well that's what I wanted to talk to you about," I said while I sat down next to him "I just talked to my mom. I don't think that you should drive while you're this tired. I think that you should spend the night, my mom said it was okay, and we insist." I said.

"Are you sure honey? I don't want to be a burden." Shawn said. My heart broke.

"Shawn, you are never a burden. I want you to stay the night. I don't want you driving like this." I said.
