46. For Shannon

Shawn and I were fast asleep when there was a sudden boom of thunder that woke the both of us up. I could hear the rain hitting the windows of our bedroom as I soon heard a whimper come from Shawn.

    "What's wrong baby?" I asked him.

    "Don't laugh but... I'm afraid of thunderstorms." He said. I felt so bad that he thought that I would laugh at him. It hurt my heart.

    "Oh honey, I would never laugh at you for anything, okay?" I asked as he nodded. I continued. "I'm right here, okay babe?" I asked.

    "Thank you Shannon. I love you so mu-" He was cut off by another large boom of thunder. He started to cry and it hurt my heart that my baby was so scared right now, to the point that he was shivering.

    "Shannon?" He asked.

    "Yes, my love?" I responded.

    "Will you hold me and rub my back please?" He shyly asked. I smiled.

    "Of course Shawn. Come here." I said, holding my arms open for him. He immediately came into my arms as I held him and rubbed his back. The poor thing cried himself to sleep. I kissed his forehead and told him that I loved him, even though he couldn't hear me. I will always be there for my lovely boyfriend.
