The Rejected Princess

Chapter 8

Alec's P. O. V

I probably deserved more than all that growling from Ayla even that punch she gave me was not enough for what I did to her, that day when I rejected her it wasn't because I didn't love her heck the first time I laid my eyes on her in that meeting room I wanted to jump her there and then, I wanted to mark her as my own but I couldn't do that in front of her parents.

I had wanted to claim her as my mate straight after I found out that she was my mate but that bitch Lily cornered me in front of my room,  she threatened to kill Ayla if I mated with her and accepted her as my mate.  So after that day I tried to ignore Ayla I didn't want her to get hurt as that bitch said that she was part of the rogues stirring up trouble with the packs and if I didn't obey her then she and her rogue pack would attack the royal pack with the goal of killing Ayla as she was the last werewolf royal that lived.

Lily was always around at the right times just to intimidate Ayla like the time Ayla caught me in the hall way. The truth was I had just come out of my room and Lily appeared right in front of my room she said if I didn't play along she would have her rogues kill Ayla that night,  she slammed her lips onto mine and I pushed her against the wall when I smelt Ayla close by because I knew if I wasn't holding onto the wall I would have chocked Lily while she kissed me.

After that I knew I had to reject Ayla or she would hurt every time anything like that ever happened again. When that time actually came all I wanted to do was hang myself, when those words came out of my mouth. "What? What do you want me to say? That you're mine and I'm yours? That you're the other half of my soul? That we were destined to be? Well News flash princess does it look like I want you? Am I kissing you instead of anyone else? I was just going to leave this alone and act like we didn't even find out that we're mates but you had to come and talk about it. Now I'll just make it easier for you! I Alec Knight reject You Princess Ayla Black as my mate."

Those words broke my heart,  my wolf was howling inside of me trying to show himself to comfort Ayla but I had to hold him in so that he would not blow my cover. The only sentence that replayed in my head when I said those awful words to Ayla was.....  'This is all for Ayla' reassuring myself that I'm doing this to protect my mate. I did everything Lily made me do the only thing I never did was sleep with her,  I could not sleep with the enemy when all me and my wolf wanted to do was strangle her.

I had just come out of Ayla's office after looking at her I realized I destroyed a wonderful person who appeared to be my mate.  How the fuck did I end up here?  To the point I destroyed the happiest person in the royal pack the Queen of all werewolf life?  Right now sitting by my desk thinking about how shitty all my decisions in life had been so far really pissed me off. 

*bang * I slammed my fist into my office desk shattering the glass in the process.
"Fuck" I muttered to myself. I was done with all the disappointments I created for myself and decided to get back to work if there was one thing I was gonna do now it was to hunt the threat down and kill every single one of those rogues before they even try to destroy my pack or mate for that matter. 

*mind link*
"Hey John!  Can you get me a new laptop asap"

"Sure Alpha,  but what's wrong with you PC?  Is it not running well?  Do you want me to call the IT guy? "

"No John just bring the laptop and I'll show you what's wrong with the PC"
I stated quickly closing our mind link before he asked me any more questions.

"What the fuck happened here? " John looked at my office desk or at least the remains of it.

"Shit happened John......  Shit! " I said before grabbing the laptop he brought up to me.

I took a sit on the couch in my office and got back to work,  searching for alternative places the rogue army could be hiding at.

Than I thought of possible wolves that could be part of this rogue army,  if that bitch was able to get into the castle to threaten Ayla's life than more of them could be in this castle as we lived our lives each day. 

What was that guys name again? I was so lost in my own thinking that I forgot about John standing in front of me staring as if he knew what I was thinking of .

"John! What's the name of that wolf that came to the castle?  The one who's cousin's with the princess's best friend?? " I looked at him curiously waiting for his response.

"Hmmmm....  I think his name was Hun..... ter.  Ah yes!  Hunter" He shouted it out as if he said it even louder he would win a prize.

Yes! That's he's name Hunter! I have no idea why but every time I see him my wolf gets this uneasy feeling like he isn't who he says he is. I can't put my finger on it but I know there is something this Hunter dude is hiding and I'm gonna find out what it is.

Running the records of my pack on the laptop I cross check to find new members of my pack ranging from the time the old king and queen were still here,  that must have been the time the rogues started to join the pack individually as to not create suspicion. Finding the file I see that there are about 30 new members that were added from that time till now. Fuck! The rouges have already infiltrated my pack.
