Chapter 21

Alec's P.O.V

"How the fuck were rogues able to get onto my territory?" I growl out at the warriors as I called them all to the ground we always have our meetings. I give a hard look at each at everyone of them. I was beyond disappointed and even worse angry. These rogues were really testing my patience, apparently they still didn't know who the fuck they were dealing with and it was getting to me. If anything had worse than what happened to Ayla was done I would kill all those rogues with no mercy whatsoever actually the only reason I wasn't killing like a crazy mad man was because Ayla was keeping me sane, she was like the light to my darkness and that is why I try to protect her at all costs including from the parts of being a wolf that might change her innocent soul forever. "This better not happen again! We will increase patrols tomorrow but tonight no were sleeps everyone stay alert and be on the look out." a chorus of 'YES ALPHA' were heard as a nodded back to dismiss them all.

"Beta John" I nod towards him to let him know I want to talk to him. "Yes Alpha?" my beta follows behind as I stop by a tree waiting to gain all his attention. "I need you to sort out the patrols from tomorrow onwards, increase the number by 20 more warriors and send me the finalized list keeping in mind that you, Scott, Travis and I all have a side of the border to head. Understood?" I state. "Yes Alpha. I will give you the finalized list in the morning" John confirms as I walk away to my office. There are a lot of things I need to go over about this rogue situation, I know there's a mole in my pack and I'm determined to find out who it is and when I do they will regret to live when I get my hands on them.

Ayla's P.O.V 

All I could see was black, darkness lingering all around me. When suddenly I felt sparks like a smooth touch running down my face, I opened my eyes only to see Hunter on a hospital bed. Then everything came crashing down, last night our pack just got attacked, my people were killed, rogues were killed and Hunter was hurt badly. I came to stay over with Hunter because of what happened to him, I was worried about him now. And whoever thought they could attack my pack and threaten my kingdom were all going to pay. And I was going to make sure about it.

"You're up?" I looked at Hunter while giving a yawn and stretching my arms above my head. "Yeah.. how long did you stay up? ... You didn't have to come here and check up on me" Hunter reached out and ran his fingers through my hair and flipped it behind my ear. "Nope I didn't" I gave a small smile thinking how sweet he was for thinking about me even though he was the one in pain and all because of me. "Go home Ayla. Get some food, take a bath and get some rest. You need it, your kingdom was just threatened last night and was just attacked last night. So get some rest because I'm gonna get released later today and we need to get behind this issue before the rogues attack again." Hunter stated, which made me realize he was right. "Yes. You're right. I'll catch you later" I stood up and kissed Hunter on the forehead earning a smile in return, before I turning around and walking out. Hunter was right, I needed to get my shit together and after taking Hunter's advice I'd have to get over everything with Alec as soon as possible.

"So you're telling me you're still not sure?" I stated while tapping my pen on my desk again. Alec and I had been going over the list of new pack members, running through plans and replaying everything that had happened the night before and nothing was adding up. This was driving me crazy at this moment I didn't know who to trust fully besides Kylie and obviously Mary I mean that woman practically raised me and knows me inside out. "Well.. wait. when your office was broken into was anything taken from there concerning the new members list?" Alec all of a sudden looked like he just thought about it all. "Yes. A file was taken at first I thought it was the list containing the new members but then I realized I never saw that list." I thought to myself, I really never did go through the list of the new members. "That's because I have that list Ayla" Alec stated. "What? then what was taken? And what do you mean you had it?" I replied in shock. "Before your father the former king left he gave me the list of the new members of the pack so that I could monitor them for any mole suspects" Alec said in one go whilst looking out in the blue as in deep thought. "Ok so that would mean if they were after that file they failed because you had it right?".... "Yes. but that is only if that was the only file they were after. Did anything else go missing?" Alec looked straight towards my cabinet that was contained all the files of pack information. I stood up to go through the cabinet, with all honesty I did not go through the cabinet after seeing that the file containing the new pack members was missing. I assumed that was all the info that they wanted and that was the only file tat they took but after finding out Alec had that file it's making me question what else exactly did they take?

My dad organized the files with 3 years of information so the 2017-2015 file was with Alec, I flipped through 2014-2012, 2011-2009, 2008-2006, 2005-2003, 2002-2000, 1996-1994, 1993-1991 wait. something is... oh my gosh I can't believe I missed this. The 1999-1997 file was missing ... but why? "what's wrong Ayla?" Alec asked as he noticed that I stopped. "It's the 1997-1999 file. It's gone and that makes this even worse" "Why?" Alec asked me back. "Because now we have no idea how many new members over the years we've had are working for the enemy" I was scared at this point, if a file from that long ago was missing that would mean we didn't only have a mole but moles that infiltrated my kingdom from a long time ago which could mean we could have hundreds of people in our own pack that were working for the enemy, people that lived by us every single day and we didn't even know who they were. "Alec we didn't just get the mole. we've had them all along"
