Tightrope

Walking a tightrope is where I am
One false move, one misstep
I'm falling to the depths of dark agony

One foot moves in front of the other
A pattern that my feet know
I slow down as an obstacle appears
Like that I was knocked down

Blind sided

Holding on with one hand upon the wire
Anything that could go wrong was
Ready to fall to my demise
I grab onto the wire with my other hand
The flesh of my hands raw from holding on

My body begins to shake and tremble
Pain flows through my veins
I pull myself up until I'm back on my feet

Finally I Find my balance
Just to be hit blindly moments later

Questioning if I had learned anything
I knew then love was just that walking on a tightrope just trying to make it
Willing to take pain for something that means the world to you
Discovering this was the hardest
