In a world full of hate, lie and sin I thought you were different.
Hoping that you could bring light through the clouds.
You had me believing every slick word that rolled off your tongue.
At first I thought you were the fool but quickly realized that was I.
Trusting something so handsome and so smooth.
Hoping I was enough, just to be used.
You had me so wrapped up in the beauty of love.
The gracious rarity of soul mates.
I begun to think I was in a fairy tale, but the ending of this one wasn't so sweet.
I now feel unwanted and hurt, holding back my tears I smile.
Sometimes things become too much and my smile fades.
Hope diminishes and the feeling of loneliness enters me.
I gave you everything.
You were my king and you let my crown fall.
Not even trying to fight, I left.
Learning my lesson once again.
