Follow me

You watched as I dipped my toe in the icy waters.
I stopped moving forward and began to shiver.
You knew better, knowing I had more fear to continue than before.
You engraved a whimsical thought onto a metal band and placed it on my finger.
Thinking that would be enough to keep the fears away.
I took another step into the dark depths, unable to see my foot below I stopped again.
Trembling from the cold.
You grasped my hand in yours reassuring me to move forward.
Trusting your movements I followed.
Into the unknown we dived right in, hand in hand together.
When we came up for air you were there to hold me.
My favorite smile appeared across your face.
You knew I had finally crossed the bridge of fear and had made it home into your arms.
You brought my hand up and told me to read the script you had engraved.
Tears rolled down my rosy cheeks.
My smile grew the biggest it had ever.
I read over and over again, "Follow me dear, and you'll never have to worry about fear again."
When I looked up into your emerald seas I knew that you'd always be there.
Holding my hand through any storm.
I will follow you until the end of time, you are my grey in a world of black and white.
