Panic. Utter panic. Sure, Finn, Sadie and Noah have heard Millie sing, but Caleb, Gaten, and Romeo haven't.

Millie's heart beat faster and faster.
"D-duet?"

"Yeah," Finn smiles, Millie melts like ice cream, he had no idea what the most simple smile of his could do.

What if I don't know the song he wants to do? What if he hates my taste in music, he'll think I'm a loser-

"Finn, I-I don't know, I'm really not that-"

"Millie we've talked about this already," Sadie says sternly, raising her eyebrows.

"Oh fine," Millie sighs, a small grin growing on her face.

"What should we sing?" Millie asks, cheerfully and nervously.

Finn ruffles his dark curly hair, thinking. Millie blushes, remembering that she's wearing his red hat. Millie adjusts the beanie over her short brown hair with her small hands.

Finn's dark brown eyes light up, "How about we sing Castle on the Hill?"

Millie's eyes widen in excitement, "BY ED SHEERAN?" She squeals.

Finn laughs at her excitement, "That would be the one."

"I love that song!" She says happily, as Finn turns on the microphone.

"I had a feeling you would."

Sadie winks at Finn, this goes unnoticed by Millie. The truth is, he didn't know Millie loved Ed Sheeran, ironically, they hadn't talked a whole lot about music. Finn had asked Sadie earlier that day what were some of Millie's favorite songs. Finn knew he had to suggest a good song for Millie to sing with her, he also knew that Castle on the Hill would make her happy. He loved to see Millie happy.

Finn already knew all the chords to that song, because he really liked it too. Despite Millie's excitement about the song selection, she was still nervous to sing in front of all of her friends.

"I'll sing the first verse if you want," Finn offers sweetly, picking up his red guitar pick.

Millie nods, sipping some of her coffee as Finn puts his guitar strap over his shoulder. He starts to play the intro to the song, a smile grows on Millie's face as she admires Finn's skills.

But then, he started to sing, and Millie began to melt, his voice filling the space around them, it was mesmerizing.

"When I was six years old I broke my leg, I was running from my brother and his friends..."

The friends gathered around, Noah sat down behind the drums and started to simply hit the bass drum at a steady tempo.

Millie's heart beat faster as the chorus came up, but when she started to sing, she didn't want to stop.

Finn and Millie's voices meshed perfectly together, they harmonized with ease, giving each other (and their friends) goosebumps.

"I'm on my way, driving at ninety down those country lanes. Singing to tiny dancer and I miss the way you make, me feel and its real. We watched the sunset over the Castle on the Hill."

Millie sang the next verse beautifully. Romeo, Caleb and Gaten gaped in awe for a good five seconds, before snapping out of it and continuing the perfectly cringey dance they had made previously.

This time, everyone joined in on the chorus, and to be honest, they sounded amazing. Noah joined in too, still playing the drums in sync to Finn's guitar strums. Their harmonies were pretty good, and they almost made it to the end of the song.

On the second to last verse, Gaten and Finn both simultaneously had a huge voice crack on the same note of the same word, and they couldn't keep it together.

An explosion of laughter erupted amongst the musically gifted teenagers. Noah dropped his birch wood drum sticks in order to clutch his stomach.

A good minute goes by as their laughter dies down, Millie and Gaten wipe literal tears of laughter from their joyful eyes. Finn sets his guitar down and bows.

"Thank you! We'll be here all week! We are, Two Cute Chicks and the Voice Cracks! Thank you and goodnight!" Finn shouts.

The laughter continues.

Millie looks at Finn as he laughs with Gaten about their voice crack, admiration glimmering in her eyes.

When he turns to catch her staring, her cheeks turn a bright shade of red.

"Millie, you alright there? You're cheeks match the color of my beanie," Finn says pointing at the deep cherry red beanie.

Millie says nothing, and looks away to try and hide her burning cheeks.

Sadie and Noah laughs at Millie's embarrassment.

Finn leans in towards Millie and whispers in her ear, "It's okay, I think it's cute when you're flustered."

Millie turns her head towards Finn's, they're faces already merely inches apart. Finn wonders how Millie's breath smells like vanilla, even though her cappuccino was chocolate flavored. For a second, he wanted to taste the vanilla of her breathe, he looked down at her soft, pink lips.

All the background conversations grow silent as the friends realize how close the two are.

"So, are y'all gonna kiss or do we have to push you together?" Caleb asks with a devious smile.

Millie whips around to face Caleb, "Shut up," She says playfully.

"Yeah Caleb, shut up," Finn says, quoting Millie.

"And we don't have to be pushed, we've kissed before mind you-"

GASP

Everyone's eyes widen.

Oh shit, Finn thinks to himself.

Sadie makes eye contact with Noah, who shrugs, and looks at Gaten, who looks at Caleb, who looks at Romeo, who looks at Millie (hoping it isn't true) and Millie looks back at Finn.

He smiles sheepishly.

"Okay you gotta admit, that was the coolest human version of dominos this world has ever seen."

For what seems like the hundredth time, they laugh again.

Millie gives Finn a side smile, she just can't help it. What she didn't know, was that Finn saw, and he was smiling for the exact same reason.
