Finn finds Millie exactly where he thought she'd be. An abandoned classroom in the tech-wing. Millie sits in the floor, crying silently.
"G-go away, F-Finn."
Those words kill him. It's kills him to see her cry. It kills Finn to know that she's crying, because of him.
He walks over to Millie.
"Millie, please let me explain-"
"Explain what Finn?" She says sadly, a trace of anger laced through her words.
"Explain why you gave a girl your hat, just like you did to me? You posted a picture of her on Instagram, y-"
"Millie-"
"I was thinking, maybe they're just friends or something, I'm over thinking."
"Millie she's just a f-"
"Turns out, " Millie pauses to wipe her eyes, standing up, "I wasn't overthinking. Because three hours later I go to Language Arts, and here you are, kissing the same girl."
"Millie no, she kissed me. I didn't want her to kiss me, I-"
The bell rings for lunch. Millie grabs her backpack off of the floor.
"I'm sorry Finn, I'm going to lunch. Just go hang out with your new girlfriend or something okay?" Millie says, her heart breaking with every word she says.
She leaves the classroom, leaving Finn speechless. Hot tears finally fill his eyes, he blinks them away.
"God dammit!" He kicked a nearby desk.
Finn doesn't eat lunch, he instead stays in the classroom, trying to think of how to prove to Millie that he wasn't cheating on her with Iris.
Meanwhile, Millie heads to the spot that Romeo said to meet her, just down the hall in the tech wing. Her eyes are red and puffy. Romeo's smile fades when he sees her.
"Oh my god, Millie. What happened?"
"F-Finn, I saw him-"
Romeo pulls Millie in for a brief hug. Jeez, Finn. I didn't even have to use my plan, he basically placed her in my arms. Oh, but poor Millie.
"You found out about Finn, huh?" He asks gently. Millie pulls away, nodding, her tears finally gone.
"So what did you need to tell me?" She asks.
"Well, I was going to tell you about Finn. How he's not you think he is, how he's a heartbreaker. But it seems to me you've already figured that out. I'm so sorry Millie," he says, has Millie's eyes fill up with tears yet again.
Meanwhile, Iris Apatow finds Finn with puffy eyes in the abandoned class room.
"Please, just go away Iris."
Iris walks over to Finn with great speed. "Finn I'm so so sorry. I shouldn't have kissed you. I know we broke up, but part of me just thought, that since we go to the same school again that maybe-"
"Iris."
"I didn't know you had a girlfriend. And I shouldn't have kissed you because I didn't know if you had one or not. Even though we broke up before I moved I missed you through those two years."
"Iris?"
"But when I kissed you, I didn't feel the fireworks anymore. So I guess that gave me some closure."
"Iris!"
"Finn, we're going to find your girlfriend, and explain to her what the actual situation is, that it's all my doing, that you're not a dirty cheater."
"Thanks Iris," Finn says, his whole body filling with hope of getting Millie back.
They speed walk out of the classroom, and down the hallway. That's when they see Millie, they speed up. Finn slows down when he sees Millie hug... Romeo?
Finn's taken aback, she moved on that quick? Maybe not, maybe she just needed comfort. Finn speeds up again, "Millie!" He shouts.
Millie turns around, and sees Finn, his curly hair flying as he runs towards her, she smiles faintly. But that smile disappears when she sees the same girl, with long golden hair flowing behind her, running a bit behind Finn.
Finn reaches Millie. "Millie please, you have to let me explain, I never heated on you. I dated Iris in middle school, way before I met you- "
"I think Millie's got all the explaining she needs," Romeo says defensively.
"Don't bother Finn, Romeo has already told me the truth."
Iris catches up, "Millie, I'm so sorry. You see, I-"
"Come on Millie, we don't deal with cheaters," Romeo says, hoping to get her away before Finn explains he truth.
Millie wants to hear what they have to say, so when Romeo grabs her hand to try and pull her away, she doesn't budge.
"Okay, explain."
"Okay, so-"
Ring, ring, ring.
The bell for fourth period rings. And Finn frowns, "Will you talk to us later Millie?"
Millie nods unsurely, and heads to her next class.
To be continued...
