The first thing I heard was a sharp crack which tore through the silence of the shop. The unexpected hit threw him as he staggered backwards, bringing his hand to his nose. His cup dropped to the floor, the hot liquid spilling at his feet forming a thin layer of mess, and his granola bar ironically snapped in half as it hit the floor; much like his nose. Acute pains shot through my knuckles where the skin had split, but I ignored them, not loosing eye contact with Jimmy as he breathed heavily, containing his anger. He wiped his now bleeding nose with the back of his hand, creating a solid strip against his ivory skin.
I watched as he stood up and trudged out the of the shop, his pace quickening as he neared the door, before walking out. I waited till I was sure he was out of sight before turning around slumping against the back of the counter, letting my head roll back and closing my eyes.
"So I take it he wasn't just someone you know?" Dan said, crouching down and taking my hand in his, brushing his fingers over the open cuts.
"It's a long story," I looked up at him.
"We've got all day," he said. And so I told him, everything that had happened in the past couple of days, about Finn and the club, and the date, and the warehouse and the boys, and he just sat there watching me, taking in everything that I was saying.
"Wow," he said, once I had finished. Standing, and helping me up with him.
"What did he even say which pushed you to punch him?" He asked.
"He said I'd be a good fuck," I answered, walking to the staff bathroom and turning the tap on.
"Well I heard a crack, so if you ever see him again he won't have a straight nose anymore," Dan commented, following me.
"Surprised he didn't have one already," I muttered, placing my fingers under the tap to check the temperature. It was cold. I let my hand lie under the running water, watching it softly splash onto my hand, split either end and trickle down the sides. It soon found its way to my knuckles, and I rubbed the blood away, before grabbing the towel dabbing it, applying pressure so that no more blood would form.
I turned around to find Dan already ready with the first aid kit open on the shelf. He gently took my hand, looking at me for permission, before tearing open an antiseptic and rubbing it over the cuts. I hissed at the sudden pain, like rubbing salt in a wound.
He was soon finished and wrapped a short bandage around my knuckles, a déjà vu played with my mind.
"So, are you going to tell your badass boyfriend?" He asked, tying the two ends together. I could see him smile evern without looking.
"There are some things he doesn't need to know about," I answered, chucking the wipe packet into the bin. Wait, did I just say that? I was beginning to sound like Finn.
Dan grabbed my upperarm as I was turning around, forcing me to looking at myself in the mirror.
"Get that bruise from Jimmy too?" He said, looking at me.
My bruise had almost faded under my eye, and had been replaced by a yellow slightly swollen patch that was just visible in this light. "No, I told you, some guy hit me at that -" I started.
"At that bar and your boyfriend came to the rescue, Fray, you need to tell him about this," he said, his grip on my arm tightening.
"Let go of me Dan," I said sternly. His grip loosened as he realised what he was doing, and he gave me a sympathetic look.
"Sorry," he said.
"Don't worry about it," I walked past him, going to the store cupboard.
"Seriously Fray, you should tell -"
"Look Dan, I know you want what's best for me and all that shit, and you're just trying to be a good friend, I get that! But this," I pointed at my bandaged hand. "This Finn doesn't need to know about, he'll probably find out one way or another anyway, but let's just prolong it for as long as possible because I don't particularly want him to find out 'cause he'll go crazy and hunt down Jimmy. So are we done?" I asked.
"Fine, but don't come crying to me when -"
"Oh believe me, if Finn does something bad you won't be the first person I come crying to," I said, turning around and grabbing the mop out the cupboard.
"That's the second time you've interrupted -"
"Make that third," I smiled, walking to the sink and filling the bucket with hot water.
"I'm not helping you clean that up," he said, nodding to the spillage on the other side of the counter.
"I know, I never asked for you help," I said, adding some soap and mixing the water, cloudy bubbles forming a top layer.
I picked up the bucket after turning the tap off, and carried it round counter to the spill, the mop in my other hands. Using my foot, I brushed away the cup and remains of the granola bar, before dunking the mop into the bucket and starting to clean the floor. The clean soap covered the spill, as I wished to cover the event from Finn.
It wasn't long before Dan had come round to help me, bending down and picking up the rubbish.
"I thought you weren't going to help me?" I questioned.
"I couldn't just stand there and watch you," he said.
I smiled at him. "You're a great friend," I said, and I saw something, as I said the word friend, something in his eyes.
"Thanks, you too," he walked away, dropping the rubbish in the bin. I furrowed my eyebrows.
When I had finished cleaning the floor I placed a 'be careful, wet floor' sign next to the glossy coating, and emptied the water down the sink, putting the mop and bucket where I found them.
Dan was sitting on the counter on his phone. I glanced up at the clock. 10.15.
"Oh my God, what are we gonna doing for 4 and a half hours?" I groaned. I basically gave up then and there, falling to the ground and sprawling myself on the hard tiles.
"You're such a drama queen," Dan smiled, not looking up from his phone.
"What you doing?" I asked.
"Just texting," he said.
"Who?" I pried.
"Do you have to be so nosy?" He looked at me.
"Yes, it's in my nature," I turned my gaze to the ceiling, where the paint had cracked and flaked. Tiny fragments would fall to the ground every now and then.
"Well I'm not telling you," he chimed, grinning.
"C'mon," I said, sitting up.
"Nope, nopey nopey nopey nope," he teased.
"That's just immature," I stood up, making my way to my hoodie which hung on a wall adjacent to the kitchen. I dug my hands through it, moving them around, hoping to find something to occupy myself with. Ofcourse, there was nothing.
"Urgh, I'm so frustrated," I said.
"Sexually frustrated?" Dan asked, putting his phone back in his pocket and licking his lips.
"No, just normally frustrated," I rolled my eyes.
"Which means sexually frustrated," Dan slid down from the counter. He attempted to sexily walk towards me, swinging his hips back and forth, hands on hips, back arched, crotch sticking out.
I burst out laughing. "What is that?" I said.
"It's my lap dancing," he purred.
I laughed even louder, if that was possible. "It's awful." He stopped, straightening his posture and pouting.
"That's not very nice," he said. "You're not a very nice person." He said.
"You made me laugh if that's what you were trying to do," I tried to reassure him.
"Whatever," he mumbled, walking back to the coffee machine to finish our drinks.

I stared at the clock. I was now hunched against one of the chairs, staring at the black second hand, circling the timepiece. It was an odd modernised clock, with no stupid roman numerals which confused the shit out of me instead of numbers.
Anya was now sitting opposite me, as she had already arrived for her shift.
"Urgh, why did I come early?" She moaned, throwing her head back and placing her feet on the table.
"Unhygienic we might have an inspection at any time feet off the table or else I'll-" I shouted.
"Okay, okay, okay, calm down hygiene freak," she smiled, swivelling herself roun so that her back was where her thighs should be, and her thighs were where her back should be. Her feet dangled off the back of the chair, coral painted toenails shining brightly.
"What are you doing?" I said, opening my mouth as a sign of madness.
"I'm bored, don't judge," she said.
"Be grateful you only have to stay here for 3 and a half hours, I've been in this stinky sauna for like double that, and Dan has to stay here until you leave, why does he even do that long of a shift? I swear that's not even legal?" I asked.
"Probably, but you know Dan, Mr. Living Life On Da Edge," I couldn't even see her face.
"You're mental, you know that right?" I said, looking back at the clock
"Yeah, I-" she started.
"I CAN LEAVE!!!" I exclaimed, interrupting Anya and sprinting to the counter.
"Way to rub it in," I heard her snigger.
I grabbed hold of Dan, who was sitting on the floor on his phone, and shook him about, screaming 'I can leave,' repeatedly at him.
"Um, Fray, what are you doing?" He said, his voice unsteady from the way I was shaking him.
"Sorry," I said, letting go of him. "I'm just so happy!!!" I pulled my apron off, chucking it in the drawer and picking up my hoodie from the hook.
"Fray, are you like hyper or something?" Dan teased, passing me my shoulder bag.
"I'm just so happy!!!!" I said, running towards the door. "See you bitches in the afterlife," I called, swinging open the door.
"Fuck off," Anya yelled, just as the door shut. She had a habit of doing that.
A gush of fresh air hit me, and I swiftly turned 90 degrees to my right, heading for the closest underground. My phone started vibrating in my back pocket. I pulled it out - Liam was calling.
"Hello," I said, after answering the call.
"Why didn't you reply to my text?" He quickly asked, his tone of voice sharp.
"Nice to hear your voice too," I really needed to stop being so sarcastic.
"Ivy," Liam said sternly.
"I don't know, I guess I just didn't know what to say," I sighed, the underground was creeping into my vision.
"I'm meeting this guy, is his nice? What's his name? Is he from a gold background? Does he have-" Liam fired.
"Listen, I gotta go, but I'll talk to you later, okay byeeee," I said, ignoring his angry protests and ending the call. I considered mockingly blocking his number, as I knew he would probably call me multiple times, but decided against the idea, thinking it was probably a little childlike for me. Instead I put my phone on silent instead of vibrate, and only realised Liam had called me 4 more times when I got on the tube and noticed I had 4 missed calls.
I plugged my earphones in, letting my eyes explore the cabin. A child lay, completely out, next to a middle aged man, the child's head resting on the mans shoulder. He wrapped his arm around the infant bringing him closer to himself, and smiled back at me when he saw me looking.
I also really needed to stop staring at people.
The rest of the journey consisted of depressing songs paralysing me of my hearing, and me reading the various advertisements on the tube walls.
When I walked out the station at shepherds bush I made a sharp left, entering the outside restaurant area of the shopping centre. I waited till I had signal before quickly texting Lara and Annie that I was almost there.
I proceeded into the mall, making a beeline for the obvious yo sushi sign hanging above the food court. Whilst walking, I caught sight of Lara and Annie talking. Lara looked down at her phone, before looking up straight me and smiling.
As I approached her I saw it. It being the massive rock on her left ring finger.
Hey guyyyss!!!
So I know it's been like ages and I'm so ashamed of myself and I know I should've update but I've just been revising a lot recently and shit!
3.5K!!I That's so amazing thank you so much! It means a lot!!!
I realised that I really don't know like any of you, which is kinda weird in a way but a great aspect that brings fandoms together right? So my question for this week is: What's your name, how old are you and where do you come from? I'm Tara, I'm 13 almost 14 and I'm from London, England.
I've got half term this week, and even though I'm meant to and should and probably will be revising ill be at my desk for most of the week which means my computer will be in front of me and probably lure me to it so unless I don't get distracted by tumblr or teen wolf I may be able to update!
That was long.
Anyway, good luck in any important exams or tests you guyzs might have!
Please Vote and Comment!
P.S. Before my sign off I'd just like to say that Days of Future Past was absolutely incredible and I would definitely recommend you go see it.
