You have got me thinking in my mind again...
I froze in my step. Lara frowned then followed my gaze and realised what I was staring at. She looked back up again as I speed-walked towards them.
"Oh my God? What is that?" I said, pointing diamond on her finger.
"It's a haribo, look you can eat it," she said, bringing it up to her mouth. I grabbed her hand before it could actualy enter though, bringing it close to my eyes and examining the rock.
"It's breathtaking, Tiffany's?" I asked, my voice shaky, and I didn't even know if she was engaged.
"It's a Tiffany Harmony," she squaled.
I looked up at her. "OH MY GOD! Are you serious? But they're extausionate!" I said, gaping.
"I know!" She said, eyes gleaming.
"I'm so happy for you Lara!!!!!" I said, tackling her in a hug.
"I'm so happy for me too!!!" She said, and we jumped up and down like crazy fangirls whilst everybody in the restaurant looked at us.
"Um, guys, I'm leaving if you carry on embarrasing me," Annie said. I turned round to look at her. Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail, and she was dressed in simple cotton shorts and a pastel blue t-shirt.
"Sorry!! It's just!! I can't believe you're engaged!! You're going to get married!!!" I said, smiling widely as if two hooks were pulling the corners of my mouth upwards.
"Wait till she tells you how he proposed," Annie said, also grinning.
I pulled out a chair next to Annie, opposite Lara as she sat down. I rasied my eyebrows indicating her to proceed.
"Okay, okay so, it was yesterdat right, our 2 year anniversary, we went into London for a day, and he told me to dress fancy, and we ended up in Covent Garden. And I was like 'Lucas, why are we here?' And he wouldn't tell me!!! Then, he took me to see the ballet, but not just any ballet, oh no, Swan Lake!!" I gasped. "I know!" She exclaimed. "And by that time I thought that was the surprise and I was so happy! And I kept on telling him that he shouldn't have spent so much! But he wouldn't have any of it. So later after we had dinner he took me to this adorable patisserie and he ordered some cupcakes that I liked the look of, and then we just mingled and talked whilst they were being prepared, and I didn't think that he was nervous or anything he seemed pretty calm to me! And then the cupcakes came and guess what happened! He took them, and on one of the cupcakes were the words 'Will You Marry Me?' In like cursive writing and everything! And i just, I started crying, and I turned around and there he was, on one knee! And he spoke this entire paragraph about how much he loved me and when he first set his eyes on me he knew I was the one and shit, and I shrieked YES! And everyone in the shop started clapping when we finished kissing, and it was so perfect, it was so, urgh," she waffled, broadly smiling and not taking one breath.
"That's like the sweetest thing I've ever heard anyone do," I said softly, the emotions getting to me. Lara, my best friend, only 20 years old, was getting married. "Have you told your family? Don't they think it's a bit young?" I questioned.
"None of them have ever really liked Lucas, I don't know what it is, I don't get what's not to like, so I wasn't surprised when I told them and was immediately bombarded with hypocritical and accusational shouts, like 'don't come running back to me when he breaks your heart,'" She explained, taking a sip from her coke.
I noticed the same drink sitiing next to my placemat, and silently thanked the girls for ordering it for me as she carried on. "Besides, we're not going to actually have the wedding for another year or so, I think he just wanted to, kind of, 'seal the deal,' if you like."
"Lara, let's face it, he just wanted engagement sex," Annie said, scanning her menu.
I sniggered. "Since when do you actually look at the menu when we're at sushi restaurants Annie, don't you know it back to front or something?" I mocked, taking a peek at the vegetarian options - I didn't feel like anything too heavy.
"I'm being spontaneous, it's part of my 'be a better person' plan," She said, not looking up.
I smiled. "And remind me how eating different food helps you be a better person?"
"Eating a wider variety of food and drink helps stimulate the brain which in turn encourages positive thinking," she sassed, smirking to herself.
"I'm going to pop to the ladies," Lara said, winking at me.
She left, leaving an awkward silence between us.
"It's wonderful, about Lara and Lucas," I broke the silence, always.
"Yeah, I'm so happy for her, though it's been bugging me for months now, I can't think of their ship name." Typical Annie. "I mean, why do all couples I know have names that begin with the same letter! Like seriously, what kind of ship name is Lacas? Lacas?" She complained.
I laughed. "What do you mean, 'all couples you know?' There's only really Lara and Lucas with the same letter to start their names."
She snorted. "Please Fray, Finn and Fray, F and F. I know you like him, we all do, it's obvious. Anya's told me all about your encounters." She stated.
"I thought you didn't like him," I said quietly.
She sighed, then placed her menu down. "Listen, I understand if you don't want to forgive me for the things I said the other day. I realise that it was stupid and incosiderate. If you like Finn, and if you trust him then that's all that matters, right? At the end of the day, I guess if he makes you happy, then that's all I need to know. I didn't know every detail of what happened, and of what is happening, and I'm extremely sorry for what I said, will you accept my apology?"
I was completely blown away by her offer, confused as usually Annie held grudges. But I was thankful and content with what she had said, and smiled, accepting her forgiveness. I heard Lara's heels slowly approaching us, and before I knew it, she had sat back down in her seat, not before I was able to catch a glimpse of what she was wearing.
"Jesus, Lara, you dress up for work," I said, gesturing to her tucked in chiffon blouse and black slacks, teamed with simple black heels.
"Well unlike you, I can't exactly turn up to a law firm wearing a t-shirt and shorts, can I?" She sassed.
"Right, forgot about that." I mumbled.
The rest of the night was filled with us catching up, even though we had only met a couple of days ago, but there you go, alot can happen in a couple of days. I filled them in on my new 'boyfriend' as they called him, even though I assured them he was just a friend, but that only resulted them in teasing me by bringing up the countless times someone had caught us kissing. I was determind to interrogate them and find out who their source was, but to no avail they did not reveal them, although I was quite sure it was a blue-eyed blonde-haired particular.
Suprisesingly, they did not ask me about my bandaged hand. Whether it was because they was a more interesting hand on the table *cough*Lara's left ringfinger*cough* or because they simply didn't see it. The movie was average, but I'd seen a fair amount of movies in my time to have high exspectations.
I caught the tube back to my house, toying with my phone, hoping that it would magically turn on even though it was dead, but sadly it did not. It wasn't until I actually got back to my apartment block that I saw Finn's range in the car park and became confused.
I quickened my pace through the lobby, tapping my foot in the lift and praying that it wouldn't break down again, and thankfully it didn't. I walked out, making the sharp right to my door, stopping metres before it as I realised it was ajar. I furrowed my eyebrows, gulped, and then mutely fished out the first thing I could find from my shoulder bag, which happened to be my solid phone.
I proceeded to the door, using my foot to push it open further. The lights were on, I was sure I'd turned them off this morning. "Hello?" I said, mentally face palming myself as I realised that it was probably the most stupid thing to do in this situation.
"Fray," I heard him say, concern lacing his voice. I sighed, letting a great weight fall of my shoulders. I chucked my phone back in my bag, dropping it on the floor before turning around and closing the door.
"You scared me, I thought someone had broken in or something," I said, chuckling, spinning round to face him, freezing in my spot as I saw the scene in front of me.
Finn was kneeling bloody, battered and bruised by Jimmy's feet. His right eye was black and swollen, and his lip was split, crimson liquid trickling from his mouth onto his white dress shirt. Jimmy roughly gripped his hair, holding a gun to his head, whilst Finn weakly held onto Jimmy's hand, preventing him from pulling any hairs out.
"Nice to see you've finally arrived." Jimmy's growled, grinning evilly. "Any last words for your beloved?"
Finns eyes had glossed over. The emerald no longer shined and the gold flecks had disappeared, leaving a dull green. They were pleading, and loving, and heartbreaking.
I'd never seen him so vulnerable.
"Jimmy, wait," I whispered, before he pulled the trigger and let Finn's now lifeless body fall to the ground.

I woke up screaming and panting at the horrible nightmare I had just witnessed. I couldn't stop thinking about Finns eyes, leaving behind a haunting presence.
I grabbed my phone off my bedside table, realising I'd been shaking and calming myself, trying to remember where reality and my nightmare crossed.
I recalled coming home, and heading to bed early. I glanced at the clock, 2 am.
Would Finn be awake?
Oh well, I needed to talk to him.
I speed dialed his number, lying back down and bringing to phone to my ear.
"Fray?" He said, sleepily. God his tired voice was so sexy.
"Yeah, it's me," I said timidly.
"Why are you calling so early? Is something wrong?" He asked, shuffling on the other end.
"I had a bad dream, and I needed to hear your voice," I said, twiddling with the fraying edge of my duvet cover.
"What happened?" He asked softly.
"Jimmy murdered you in front of my eyes."
He laughed. "There's no way he'd be able to do that."
"Finn."
"Seriously Fray, whenever I have a bad dream, I just think logically about things. I'm taller and broader than Jimmy, and could easily overpower him. One on one whatever the circumstances I would always win, I'd anything you would have seen me murder him."
"I guess that makes me slightly better," I said, titling my head. "Were you asleep?"
"Yes, but don't worry, only for like half and hour."
"Sorry," I said.
"Don't be."
Silence.
"You might get a package tomorrow," Finn said.
"Interesting, may I ask what is in this package?" I asked.
"You may, but that doesn't mean I'll tell you."
"Urgh, you're so-"
"Let me guess, difficult?" He sassed.
"Shut up," I said, before hanging up chucking my phone on my covers somewhere and falling back to sleep.Hey guyyyyssss!!!!!
