I unlock my door and tiredly step in, Brooke right behind me.
She hasn't left my side since the precinct, and I'm not surprised, what happened to her was horrible."Okay, I'm thinking dinner and then bed for you." She looks over at me and slowly nods. I walk into the kitchen and sigh.
"What do you want, honey, we have soup-""Soup is fine." She cuts in and my shoulders drop. She's been like this since this afternoon, jumpy and all over the place.
"I don't guess you know which kind you want, huh?" I ask and she flashes a small smile, shaking her head.
"Surprise me."

I set down the bowl and she stares down at it. I get an unexplainable sick feeling in my stomach.
"Something wrong, honey?" She sighs deeply, closing her eyes.
"I had a memory at the precinct." She says, opening her beautiful green eyes.
"What? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well a lot happened." She says quietly. She takes a deep breath.
"Why was I in that basement?" My stomach twists."Honey, I really don't think-"
"No." She interrupts.
"You can't tiptoe around me forever," she takes my hand.
"Please." I sigh."I'm just going to start by saying that We don't know too much, but I'm going to tell you everything I do know for one hundred percent sure." She nods.
"Tell me what you saw in your memory." She squirms in her seat."What was his name?" She asks.
"The man who," she trails off, clearing her throat.
"The man who had the gun." I squeeze her hand."Seth Davis," I respond and she squeezes her eyes shut.
"He," she starts, her voice shaking.
"He um, he..." she mumbles something under her breath and I send her a confused expression."Speak up, honey, I can't hear you-"
"He set me on fire." She blurts out. I shake my head.
"What?"
"He set me on fire." Im at a complete loss for words.
"I, I dont-" she slips off her blue hoodie and shirt that I gave her this morning without hesitation and turns around, lifting her hair up.
It's small, but it's there. A portion of skin behind her right shoulder is burned. I reach up and run a hand over it and she tenses up."It's okay, honey," I whisper and run a single hand through her hair. She turns back around and sighs.
"Who am I? Where did I come from? Why do I have burns on my back and bruises and scars?" She pauses.
"What happened to me, Erin?" I sigh and take her head in my hands."I wish we had all the answers, I wish I could tell you what happened but nobody knows at this point." She starts to look down but I lift her head and look into her eyes.
"But what I do know is this. Your name is Brooklyn, you are stronger than your situation." I take a deep breath.
"They had you in that basement to torture you. We don't know why yet, but we will. We found you strapped to a table in the basement of a nice house, Seth Davis was down there with you. We don't know why you were there, but we will find out." She nods, biting her bottom lip.
"Another thing I know is that you are safe here. I am not going to let anyone hurt you. You have a lot of people who are going to lay down their lives for you. You have me, you have Jay, you have Naya, who shot a man for you today. You're safe." She nods, still looking at the ground.
"Brooklyn," I whisper.
"Brooke," she turns her head up and looks at me with tears lacing her eyes, but she blinks them away.
"I promise." She nods again.
