E R I N

Jay finally gets Seth back under control and I shake my head. Before we came in here Voight told us to play it cool, don't get violent unless we absolutely have to. We don't want to do something terrible and lose this case.

I'm not quite sure how much longer I can keep this up.

"Mr. Davis," I start, trying to keep my cool.
"Why was Brooklyn in that basement? How long was she on that operating table?" He sighs.

"None of that matters at this point, I'm afraid."

"Answer the question." Jay adds harshly and he raises an eyebrow. He chuckles and looks down.

"You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into."

"Fill me in, Seth." He looks up, looking me in the eyes.

"This is bigger than you, detective. This is bigger than your sergeant, this is bigger than your team," he shrugs. "Might as well give up now, before someone really gets hurt." He smirks.

"Yes well I don't see that happening any time soon, so-"

"She's going to die down there. And there's nothing you can do to save her." He pauses.
"You can't save everybody, Ms. Lindsay." I stand up and gather my paperwork.

"Thank you for your time, Mr. Davis, we deeply appreciate it." He smiles.

"Well, anything for you, my lady." I hold my tongue.

"Jay, come with me." He looks at me with confusion but I shake my head. He stands up and follows me out of the room.

"What the hell was that?" He asks once the door shuts.
"We didn't get anything!"

"Listen." I say angrily.
"We're not getting anything out of him unless it's by force. So I say we go and turn the cameras off and go back in there, and if anyone looks over the tape they'll see a whole interrogation, calm and collected." He smiles.

"This is why I love you." He places a quick peck on my lips before we run to the control room and flip off the cameras.

We start walking back and I smile.

I'm going to get a confession out of that disgusting asshole.

He walk back into the room and my heart drops to my feet.

"Jay," I say, all the color drained from my face.
"He's gone..." only a pair of silver handcuffs lay on the table.

"What?" He asks, sheer terror in his voice.

I hear a loud scream from downstairs.

Thats definitely not good.

We sprint down the stairs, guns already in hand. I almost trip we're going so fast. I don't know who's scream that was, but all I do know Is that this man is very dangerous. Whatever it is, it's not good.

We get down the stairs and i stop dead in my tracks.

I stop breathing, I stop thinking, and I swear my heart stopped beating.

There in the middle of the room is Seth Davis, free of all confinement

With a gun

And a hostage.

There in his arms, he holds Brooklyn, one arm twisted behind her back as her holds her face close to his

A gun pressed firmly to her temple.

"Told you we'd be together again," he laughs, a wicked smile spread across his face.
