Mackenzie and Anthony have been best friends for 6 months but after Mackenzie is diagnosed with cancer and told that she only has 200 days left, things between them change.
"Ahhh it feels so good to be home" Tessa plops down on the couch. We just got back from New York and it's just after 7pm.
"I know right" I sit down next to her.
"By the way we're having a girls day tomorrow. My nails need done and so does my hair and I need to go shopping" Tessa says.
"I'm so down bro, Grove?"
"Grove" The Grove is Tessa and I's favourite place to go. It just has everything.
"Who's going to the Grove?" Chance sits down between us.
"Not you buddy, sorry" Tessa pats the top of his head.
"Mackenzie do you have to take my girlfriend away from me?"
"Yup sorry Chance why don't you go play paintball with Toner tomorrow or something"
"I wanna play paintball" Anthony sits down next to me joining the conversation.
"Good you can go with Chance tomorrow while me and Kenz have a girls day" Tessa says.
"I wanna be with Kenz though" he says making a sad face.
"Shh Tony we're going away for like 2 weeks together soon" I say squeezing his hand.
"What? Where are you guys going?" Tessa asks.
"Europe" Anthony smiles. "Oh my god you guys should come. Kenzie do you mind if they come?"
"No that would be so lit you should"
"Yess" Tessa squeals "This is gonna be so fun. A couples vacation!"
"Yeah except me and Anthony aren't actually a couple"
"Yeah we are" Anthony puts his arm round my shoulders and pulls me closer to him.
"No we're not" I laugh. "Anyway we need to book this vacation I'll go get my laptop"
I go into my room to get my laptop then sit back down on the couch between Chance and Anthony again.
"So we're gonna fly to London first, right?" I ask after logging onto my laptop and pulling up a website to book flights on.
"Yeah let's go first class" Chance says. "It's like a 10 hour flightand I'm not down for possibly having a middle seat"
Webook all the flights to the places we want to go to and hotels for when we're there, finishing with a villa in Greece which is the last place we are going.
"So I hope your guys all have my birthday presents ready since it's my birthday in two days" I say looking between the three of them.
"Yeahhh about that Mackenzie" Chance says.
"We don't like you so we're not getting you anything" Anthony laughs.
"Yeah sorry Mackenzie" Tessa says trying not to laugh.
"Damn Tessa I thought you were better than that" I shake my head at her going along with their jokes. "And you Anthony... well I'm just disappointed. I thought Macanthony was real" I start fake crying and stand up.
"No wait it is" Anthony stands up and follows me to where I had walked over to the stairs. "Kenzieee" he wraps his arms round me squeezing me into a hug.
"I'm gonna go to bed I don't feel too good" I say as I pull away from him.
"What's wrong?" He holds my hand as we walk up the stairs together.
"I have a bad headache and I'm really tired. But I'll be fine I just really need some rest"
"I'll come with you" he says following me into my room.
"Are you sure? It's only 8:30" I say glancing at the time on my phone.
"I wanna cuddle" he grins and sits down on my bed.
"Okay I'll be back in a sec" I get a shirt and shorts out of my closet then go into the bathroom to get changed. Anthony is in my bed when I come out so I get in beside him and he pulls me towards him so my head is on his chest and his arm is around me.
"Mackenzie when are you gonna tell them?" He asks.
"I don't know. I don't really want to"
"You have to though, they deserve to know. Especially Tessa" he says playing with my hair.
"I know, she's the one I don't want to tell the most. I know it's gonna really affect her, we've become so close over the past few months"
"I think you should wait till after your birthday but before we go to Europe" he says.
"Okay but make me otherwise ill just procrastinate it"
"I will" he pulls the duvet higher around us. "Is your head feeling any better?"
"Not really. I'm gonna go to sleep"
"Okay" he leans over and turns the light off.
"Night Tony"
"Night Kenz" he kisses my forehead.
