Mackenzie and Anthony have been best friends for 6 months but after Mackenzie is diagnosed with cancer and told that she only has 200 days left, things between them change.
"Okay Okay I'm up" I open my eyes and smile at her.
"We need to leave at 12 we've got tons to do" She says opening my curtains.
Anthony left a few hours ago to go to the gym and I had fallen back asleep after he left.
"That's only an hour" I say checking my phone. "And I need to have shower"
"It's fine you don't need to wash your hair cause we're both getting our hair done. And our makeup" she grins "it's part of my birthday gift to you"
"Aww I love you T" I get out of my bed to hug her.
"Love you too Kenzie. Now go get ready and dress fancyish so we can take good pictures"
"Okay mom" I laugh and walk into my bathroom to shower.

We arrive at the grove and thank the Uber driver before getting out of the car.
"So where to first?" I ask.
"I need a coffee so Starbucks" Tessa says walking to a nearby Starbucks.
Tessa gets an iced coffee while I get a Frappuccino. After shopping for a bit we go to a restaurant for lunch since it's after 2 and we are both starving.
"So what do you want to do for your birthday Tessa? It's in like a week isn't it"
"Yeah it's April 5th and I wanna go out for sushi then have a bonfire on the beach with team 10" she smiles.
"We should have a party for both of our birthdays since I don't really have anything planned" I suggest.
"Yeah maybe" she says just as a server comes over to take our orders.
I order a burger and Tessa orders a salad. We both go for water when it comes to drinks.
"Soooo" Tessa smirks.
"What?" I laugh.
"You and Toner. We never had a chance to talk about the date in New York. And yesterday he was being so cute with you"
"It went really well. I really really like him"
"Have you done it yet?"
"No! I'm not ready for that with him yet. I wanna take it more slowly so I'm sure of things"
"I get it" she smiles "I was like that with Chance at first. But now..."
"Yup we can all hear it" I laugh. "I'm not surprised Anthony wanted to sleep in my room last night"
Tessa laughs and blushes. "Anywayy we have to eat quickly because our hair appointment is at 3" she says changing the subject.
"Ooh do you think I should do anything drastic with my hair? I kinda wanna dye it but I also kinda wanna cut it short" I say holding up pieces of my long blonde hair.
"Nooo don't cut it I love your hair. But maybe dye it. I'm gonna ombré mine" she says.
"Should I go brunette?" I grin "I'm so down for a change"
"Yeah you should it would really suit you" Tessa agrees.
"Okay I will" I decide just as the food comes.
We rush to the hair salon after we're finished eating and make it there just in time for our appointments. Anthony texts me just as I'm getting my hair dyed.
Anthony- Hey Kenz I hope ur having fun with Tessa
Me- I am did u go and Chance go paintballing?
Anthony- Nah I've got stuff to do for ur bday😉
Me- ohhh I'm excited can't wait to see u when I get home
Anthony- me too ily

"Can we call an Uber now I'm exhausted" I say as we walk out of the nail salon. We had now had our hair, makeup and nails done as well as lots of shopping.
"No wait let's go take some pictures while it's still light" Tessa says typing on her phone.
"Okay where?"
"Uhh over there" she points to the left and slides her phone into her back pocket before walking in the direction she just pointed in.
We reach a wall and I take some pictures of Tessa then we swap over and she takes some of me.
"Okay can we go now?" I ask when we're finished. It's nearly 7pm and I'm beginning to get fed up.
"One sec" she pulls out and types something. "Okay we can go" she says after receiving a text. "Actually lets just walk it'll only take like 15 minutes"
"Sure"
We start walking towards the house and reach it in just under 20 minutes.
"Wait" Tessa says as I'm about to open the door. She reaches into her bag and pulls out her vlog camera. "Okay go" she smiles after turning it on.
I slowly open the door getting suspicious of what's about to happen.
"SURPRISE"
