Mackenzie and Anthony have been best friends for 6 months but after Mackenzie is diagnosed with cancer and told that she only has 200 days left, things between them change.
I get out of the car and follow Anthony to the front door of a small white cottage that looks onto the beach.
"Here" he throws me a set of keys.
I unlock the door and open it.
"Oh my god Anthony is this what you've been doing?" I ask looking around.
"Yeah I bought this a few weeks ago and I've been renovating it"
I look around to see a small kitchen, a bedroom with a bathroom connected to it and a small living room at the back with doors to go out to the back. All of the furniture was simple and white and there was lots of pictures of us and the rest of team 10 hung up on the walls.
"This is the best bit" he leads me to the back of the living room and opens the door. We walk out onto a balcony that was right on the beach. It had a small table and two reclining chairs on it.
"This is incredible, I can't believe you did all of this for me" I feel tears forming in my eyes. "I'm so so sorry Anthony. I've been so horrible to you for the past 3 weeks when you were doing this for me the whole time"
"It's okay" he hugs me from behind.
"No it's not" we go back inside. "I can't believe I thought you were cheating on me. I'm so sorry"
"Mackenzie it's okay" he sits down on the couch and I sit down next to him. "I was acting so shady I get why you thought that"
"It must have taken you so long, did you do it all by yourself?" I say looking around at the cottage.
"Yeah" he grins. "Do you like it"
"Of course I do it's amazing. Are we gonna live here?"
"No but we can come here when we want to get away from everyone and get some privacy. Also, maybe you could spend your last days here since you love the ocean" he says softly.
"It's perfect" I turn to him "Thank you"
He smiles and looks down at my lips before leaning in. We kiss for the first time in nearly a month and he brings me onto his lap so I am straddling his waist.
"I've been waiting so long for that" he says before leaning in again.
We make out for a while then he stands up holding onto my legs. I put my arms round his neck and he carries me over to the bedroom.
"We better test out the bed" he winks after laying me down. I laugh and connect my lips to his again.

I wake up in the middle feeling wide awake. I try to go back to sleep but don't manage so I get out of bed and put on Anthony's tshirt that was discarded on the floor. We had spent the whole day in the cottage. After we'd had sex a few times we stayed in bed and had ordered pizza when we got hungry.
I glance at Anthony to see him fast asleep and grab my phone before leaving the room. I go outside at the back and sit down on one of the chairs. The moon shines brightly, illuminating the ocean and I sit watching the waves for a while. I go on my phone and go through my social media's since I haven't been on it all today. Me and Anthony had just talked all day.
As I'm posting a picture on Instagram Tessa texts me.
Tessa- Where are you? Can I phone you?
I phone her straight away, not even bothering to text back.
"Hey Mackenzie" she says after picking up.
"Hey T"
"Where are you?" She asks.
"I'm at this place with Anthony are you okay? It's like 1am"
"No I'm fine I just woke up and was worried about you since you never came home and you didn't answer my texts earlier"
"Oh I'm sorry me and Anthony have been talking all day I haven't looked at my phone at all"
"So you guys are all good now?"
"Yeah we're better than ever"
"Okay well I'm gonna go back to sleep so I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah I love you T"
"I love you too, bye"
"Bye" I hang up and finish posting on Instagram then go back inside since I'm now tired.
I slip into bed as quietly as I can do that I don't wake Anthony and manage to fall back asleep.
