Victor's Point Of View

.........

All I saw was him.

I saw his disheveled, jet black hair, and the way his glasses slid down the surface of his sloped nose.

I saw the way his cheeks were painted with a shade of pink and the way his fit stature stood tall.

I saw his deep eyes and addicting lips.

But.....

I also saw more than just him.

I saw the way he looked completely destroyed as he hit the surface of the ice.

I had never seen such a drastic change of emotions develop within a person.

It was so hard to watch such a magnificent person feel such a dark sensation.

It was hard to watch someone who was so broken try to put himself together alone.

Yuri Katsuki was alone.

Growing up, I always remembered seeing Akio at the top of the pedestal at every competition he involved himself in.

I told myself I would be just like him someday.

But as I deeply concentrated on those memories, I also remembered more than just the cocky smile that Akio wore on his lit up features.

I also remembered the boy with the messy black hair and blue glasses who stood behind the reporters and avoided the world as a whole.

I remembered the way he looked up at his father as if all he saw was a stranger who had kidnapped him.

I remembered how desperately I wished I could have reached out to him from the small space that was my living room.

I saw him.

I remembered him.

I wanted to help him.

And maybe this time, I could.

I kept my eyes focused on him as the rest of practice dragged on.

I analyzed him like an essay that was worth reading, and lost track of time.

But eventually, time caught up to me and the students began to skate off the ice, signaling the end of practice for the day.

However, Katsuki was not aware of time as he continued to skate on the ice as if his life depended on it.

I figured I wouldn't disturb his process since it was fun to watch.

Wow, I sound like a complete stalker.

"Good work today guys. I see a lot of potential in your skating and I hope we can reach its highest potential by the end of the year," I said in a rushed voice as I snuck glances back at him. "I'll see you guys on Wednesday for more of an introduction."

I had only been a teacher for one day and I was already playing favorites.

Great job, Victor.

Akio's specific instructions were to walk with the students to the outside of the building to make sure all of the students drove away safely.

I wasn't aware that I was expected to act like a kindergarten teacher.

I kind of hated this.

But I decided to follow Akio's instructions anyways as I led the students out of the building, leaving Katsuki alone on the ice.
