Yuri's Point Of View

"How about I go grab us some drinks?" I asked Petra, figuring that if an opportunity to leave wasn't going to come......

Than I would just have to give myself one.

"Such a gentlemen," she said to me as she handed me her empty champagne glass.

"I try my best."

I try my best?

Was that the designated catchphrase I had chosen for the night?

God, I need a drink now.

I hurriedly made my way around covered faces as I tried not to slip on the smooth, marble floor and ruin my night even more.

But of course, I failed miserably.

And I slipped right into one of the covered faces.

Or should I say, fell into one of them.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry sir! I was just......"

"Lost?"

The man's enticing voice immediately drew me in as I looked up to meet his eyes.

And there he was.

The one person I had been looking for this whole time but couldn't seem to find.

With his vibrant blue eyes and perfectly combed hair matching his suit and mask elegantly.

Every time I saw Victor, it felt like the first time.

He never stopped surprising me.

And even though there were tons of beautiful faces in this ballroom,

The only one I could see was his.

"V-Victor..hi."

"I was wondering if this castle had a prince or not," he said as he gently grabbed on to my arms and helped me back up to compose myself.

He then gently untied my mask and pulled it off of my eyes slowly as I furiously blushed, his actions catching me in a surprise. "That's much better."

"I-I've been looking for you."

"Well, no need. I'll always find you."

He placed the mask in my hand and his fingertips purposefully lingered on my skin, as the smile he gave me made my knees genuinely weak.

"Victor, you look......"

And as soon as I began to speak, a hand took Victor away from me and led him through the crowd to be introduced to someone else, leaving me there alone again.

His eyes looked back at me again and for a split second.........

We were together again.

But then he disappeared behind diamond silhouettes and I was swept away into the dancing crowd.

That is until Petra found me.

"Got a little lost, didn't you?" she said as she grabbed my hand and led the way towards the bar, both champagne flutes and my mask still in hand.

"Uh, I think so?"

"Don't worry, I grew up going to these things. I'm a natural."

"That makes one of us."

She let out a light laugh as she poured the champagne into our glasses, her eyes still scanning me weirdly.

"Two of us if you put a little alcohol in your system," she said as she winked at me.
