Rise of the Dragon Master

Chapter Three

Toothless and I had been searching for a new island to call home for two weeks. We would stop at promising looking ones but none of them seemed just right. I wondered what life was like back on Berk. I figured none of them missed me. I was deep in thought when I felt Toothless jerk to the side. "What's wrong bud?" I asked. Toothless however was not responding to anything I said. I tried to pull him back onto the course we were flying previously. Toothless however wouldn't budge. I was about to say something when I say a Deadly Nadder fly close bye so I ducked low on Toothless. We hit a dense fog and all of the sudden we were surrounded by hundreds of dragons. Suddenly Toothless dove along with all of the other dragons out of the air into a volcano. We landed on a ledge near the exit to the volcano. I watched in confusion as all of the dragons dropped their kill into the volcano. "Toothless get us out of here bud." I whispered. "Toothless." I hissed. That seemed to snap him out of it and just as we were about to take off a giant head emerged from the depths and snapped its jaws shut swallowing a nearby Gronckle whole. I froze in fear. Just then the head started to push itself up higher snapping at more dragons. As it did this I got a better look at it and realized in shock that this thing was a giant dragon. We took off into the air when I saw a slow moving Zippleback about to be eaten. "Toothless Fire." I yelled. Toothless shot a purple bolt of plasma and hit the giant dragon in the eye. The dragon let out a ferocious roar that shook the mountain as it turned it's ugly head towards me and Toothless. We kept flying until we were out of range of those jaws. "Toothless hold." We hovered in place for a few seconds. "We need to get rid of that monster." I said. Toothless sounded his agreement. "Alright bud, let's do this." Toothless dove and fired two powerful blasts striking the giant in the head and neck. "Nice shooting bud." I exclaimed. "Do you think that'll draw him out." I was answered by an earth shattering roar. "I'll take that as a yes." Just then the side of the mountain burst open and the monster emerged in all of its horrible glory. It then extended its massive wings and took to the air staring straight at us. "Toothless to the clouds."I exclaimed. The creature followed us into the clouds and swung its head back and forth as it hovered their looking for us. "Alright bud let's show this thing what the offspring of lightning and death can do." We dove and fired a blast striking the beast in the one of its eyes retreating after the shot. Again we dove hitting the creature in the jaw with a blast. After the third dive bomb the creature let out a mighty roar. All of the sudden the heavy stench of gas hit my nostrils. "Toothless watch out." I yelled as the dragon started spewing fire in all directions. We took evasive action and avoided being hit for the most part but Toothless' tail caught on fire. "Oh boy, Alright bud it's now or never." I exclaimed. Toothless let out a roar in agreement. We dove past the beast challenging it to follow. It took the bait and dove after us. From behind me I heard a loud hissing sound and was once again hit with the overpowering stench of gasoline. "Now Toothless." At my command Toothless pivoted and fired directly into the cloud of gasoline building up in the beast's mouth. The cloud ignited and the creature choked in surprise on the fireball in its mouth. At the last second Toothless pulled up as the dragon close behind crashed into the ground causing a great explosion. Toothless and I slalomed through the spikes on the creature's back. However Toothless' tail gave out at the last second and we couldn't avoid its swinging tail. I was knocked out of my saddle on impact. "Toothless!" I yelled as I plummeted toward the inferno below me. I saw Toothless dive and I reached for him. The last thing I heard was the Night Fury whistle before I blacked out.
