Chapter 56

Ana POV

Since I had the twins life has settled into a normalcy that is wonderful. After a month of recovery, Carrick or dad, showed me the ins and outs of the businesses I had inherited. I got salon's a lumber yard with thousands of employees and contracts to negotiate. Learning to balance the businesses financials was like learning rocket science. When I had major questions I would talk to Andrea, Christian's personal assistant who would walk me through everything I ever needed to know. She set up spreadsheet formulas and showed me the best way to administer payroll. This woman is a God send. Since the work I need to do wouldn't work from home, I leased office space from GEH, hired a few assistants whom Andrea interviewed because she knew exactly what I needed.

Christian and I would go to work together when able to have lunch and go home together. It was a happy tedium. As the babies got older I missed them a lot. So with the help of Elliot I created a day care in my office space, hiring certified child care technicians to keep an eye on the children mine and those who needed the service. It brought me happiness that my family was all together.

We did this for almost a year when I started not feeling too well. Since I'd had the twins we waited to resume being intimate for 4 months. I admit it was difficult but in all honesty once we got all the children down we we're exhausted. Teddy is walking now, understatement more like running everywhere. The girls are beginning to crawl so now that they are all mobile it's chaotic. 

We celebrated Teddy's first birthday on The Grace with all of our family on board. Teddy enjoyed it immensely loving the chance to steer the boat with daddy wearing a captains hat all the while. The girls enjoyed the water splashing on the side. Everyone enjoyed themselves talking about the girls first birthday even though it was 9 months away but Auntie Mia says it takes months to plan perfection. I have learned never argue with Mia.

So it's close to the twins first birthday and I have a surprise for my dear husband. I scheduled a dinner meeting under a pseudo name so I could guarantee this undivided attention. I have been feeling sick for a few weeks and brushed it off at the stomach flu. But when my period didn't show up again this month I took a test at work. It came back positive and I can't wait to share it with him. We left Hailey and Teddy at home because they have a cold and Parker so far hasn't gotten it. We've been trying to make sure she doesn't because it's hard enough with 2 sick babies we don't need a 3rd. Christian comes into my office "Baby I have a dinner meeting tonight with some sort of children's group. Should we call Taylor to come and get you two"? I chuckle "That dinner meeting is with me my love, I scheduled it to have your undivided attention for the evening. I have some important news to share with you". He chuckles at this "Mrs Grey you never have to schedule an appointment with me for my attention baby. But I am looking forward to finding out this news. Anyway I can seduce it out of you"? He starts kissing my neck rubbing my breasts slowly pulling my nipples. "Mmm if you keep going I'm sure it's a possibility, but since I have one last phone call to make before we leave I doubt you'll get it out of me". He continues for another minute before his hand reaches my core and feels my moisture. "Can't wait to taste it tonight my love, this will be a wonderful dessert". He kisses my lips and walks towards the door. I call out "Tease"! He chuckles as he walks out the door. I take a deep breath and finish up my day.

We leave the office at 5:30p on the dot because we have a dinner meeting scheduled at 6:15p. Parker is dosing in her car seat and we are listening to music softly in the background. Holding hands Christian is driving us in our SUV wanting to continue our promised evening.
We see an older van coming towards us thinking they just misjudged the distance when the van keeps coming towards my door and crashes into my side of the car. I hit my head not bad enough for me to black out but enough to hurt. I see a woman injecting something into Christian after pulling him from the car. I go into the backseat to check on Parker and see her car seat gone. I rush out of the car "Stop this give me my family back. You can't have them". The woman turned to look at me, laughed and took out a gun. She shot me 3 times once in each shoulder then once in the knee. "Look like I can Mrs Grey. Don't worry I'll take care of my man, I always knew what he needed anyways". She got in the van and drove off leaving me there. I watch as my husband and daughter are taken away from me and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
