Chapter 7

Christian POV

As I walk back from the coffee shop I remember I need to call Elliott to let Kate know whats going on. Too much for me to remember I swear. I enter the waiting room again and see Taylor still where he was hasn't moved an inch. I walk to Taylor offer him the coffee black just the way he likes his coffee but when it comes to blended coffee the man is a little off. I chuckle as I remember that but I need to focus and call Elliott. The phone rings twice before he answers "Hey bro long time no talk. So Kate is freaking out cause she still can't get a hold of Ana". "Yeah Elliott I apologize for my delayed call, been dealing with a lot. Do you want me to talk to Kate or would you like to be the messenger cause I will warn you the messenger gets shot 9 out of 10 times and I am in New York so I'm safe". "How bad is it"? "Bad really bad". "Well then maybe you should break it to her and I will support her as best as I can". 

I hear Elliott in the background calling for Kate and saying it was an update about Ana. I can practically hear her run to the phone. "Christian have you found her? Have you talked to her? I still can't get a hold of her and the hotel says she has checked out? How is that she's not supposed to be home till tomorrow"? "OK Kate one thing at a time...yes I have found her no technically I have not spoken with her and you will not be able to get a hold of her for some time. Now I will explain but it will be best if you let me speak and not interrupt. I know this is hard but trust me the explanation is much harder". "OK Christian I will listen just understand I am scared for her" "I know you are and how much you care for her but she needs all our love and support. OK Taylor and I arrived at her hotel and found out that her boss had manipulated Ana and him to stay on the same floor and to have a joining rooms. They went to some sort of literacy thing at the hotel and they were holding a happy hour after the convention thing. Well this part is sketchy because we are going off videos and assumptions, but it looks like her boss drugged her escorted her to her room looking like a gentleman and made it to where he could enter her room and no one would know". 

I hear her gasp as I say this last part...she knows as a woman where this is going to lead and I haven't even said the words myself....I've been avoiding this. "Christian are you saying what I think your saying"? "Yes Kate, he raped her. He also tortured her and right now she is what the doctors are calling a catatonia basically the lights are on but no one is answering. I have a psychiatrist on his way right now to look after her. She is hurt and I'm not sure you want the details". "No I don't but unfortunately I need to know. But I can guarantee that when I call her parents I WILL NOT inform them of any of this just that she was in an accident. It will be to Ana's discretion if she tells them. I know if I was a parent I wouldn't want to know". 

One of the few things Kate and I agree on. "Alright if you insist but you might want to sit down. She has some fractured ribs a hairline fractured wrist a minor skull fracture an orbital fracture burns varying from 1st to 3rd degree burns over her torso. Some internal bleeding but the doctors fixed that without major surgery. When I visited her I tried to touch her hand but flinched away from me...but she started to cry and I wiped away the tears she leaned her head into my touch. The doctors think that is a good sign but will know more after Dr Flynn arrives. Any questions"? 

"Oh my god what did he do to her? Drugged and assaulted tortured my god. How does someone come back from that? I mean a person would have to have incredible strength and after what she has already been through...." Kate mutters not really thinking I would hear her. "What do you mean all ready been through? I know Ana may not want anybody to know but I need to inform the doctor is there could be more to why she retreated than just tonight". Kate sighs over the phone and I can hear Elliott encouraging her to do what was best for Ana.

"OK but Ana doesn't need to know you know understand"? "Of course Kate I don't want her secrets just the knowledge to bring her back to us". "OK you know her mother left Ray and married another man named Stephen Morton right? Well Ana lived with them for about 6 months to almost a year and for her is was pure hell. At first it was fine then as he got more comfortable with her and Carla wasn't always around, Stephen started to pursue her in a sexual manner. Touching her making her touch him trying to force himself upon her. She told her mom and amazingly Carla blamed her for how she dressed and encouraging the attention. Ana was shocked as you can believe so she told her mom she wanted to go back to Ray and Carla agreed that would be best. Soon after Ana left Stephen molested and raped a 10 yr old girl and is currently in jail. Carla and Ana have mended as much as you can after that but I don't believe Ana will ever truly trust her again". 

Oh my poor Ana such a life of suffering. No wonder she left her consciousness. How much is one person supposed to endure. "Thank you Kate for that information, Ana will never know that I am aware unless she decides to tell me but I will inform the doctor so he knows how to approach. I will let you know when I have more information". "Don't bother Elliott and I will be one the first flight tomorrow morning". "Kate I understand what your feeling but I am not sure where she will be tomorrow what if she is worse what if it causes a set back. Let me get the doctors working on her and go from there. There is more to this then I can say because Ana doesn't even know the extent of everything and it will devastate her guaranteed". "What is it Christian"? "I can not say as I am still processing this but know I don't keep this from you lightly just she should come to you for this she will need you I promise". "OK I will give you a little time but know I have limited patience" "Understood. Good night Kate" "Christian take care of my girl". "With my life" "Good night".
