Chapter 42

Authors Note

I will summarize a bit of what has happened since the police station visit...again

don't want to get to bogged down in the day to day drama. I get lost sometimes doing that.

Things have been difficult since the police station. Everyone who was arrested claimed innocence and denied Ana was a victim. Even with all the evidence stacked against them, its funny. Ana and Christian have moved back in together, raising Teddy together finding a rhythm again. Ana has been seeing Dr Flynn since she came home and Christian and her have been having couples sessions to help deal and understand what happened how people are feeling and where to go from there. This has been 2 months since Ana came home.

Ana POV

I am six and a half months pregnant and I feel like nine. Carrying 2 apparently makes you bigger quicker. I have gained weight since my return, enjoying Gail's home cooking almost every night. I cook the weekends and I love it. Since I have been back, it has been hard adjusting to living in the world again. I love taking care of Teddy and being with Christian. He has started going back to the office about a month ago, he was around to help me adjust to Teddy and being back. I apparently still have a job if I still want it at SIP but right now, I need to focus on my family. I plan after the twins are born to work from home for a year at least maybe longer unless its a meeting then I'll go in. I love my work, but I need to focus on the kids. Christian agrees with me staying home but supported me if I wanted to return sooner. I know this is hard for him under the circumstances but he is trying not to be controlling. I love this about him, and since I have come back I have fallen more in love with him than before. He is so caring and attentive, its beautiful.

Shortly after I got back, we finally made it to Dr Greene's office to make sure everything is healthy with the babies and myself. I was obviously malnourished and anemic but vitamins and a high fiber and protein diet helped immensely. I was also given anti nausea pills that have helped as well. We are having twins, but Grace was mistaken about the sex, they are both girls for which I am grateful for. Less likely to remind me of Jose I hope. Once we found out, we were excited, well me more than Christian. I think he is thinking of dating and boys already. Today we are going to talk about the new nursery and what we want it to look like. The pregnancy is still risky because of how soon I got pregnant but Dr Greene is monitoring me closely.

Also surprisingly, from my first pregnancy, I got pregnant on birth control. Well there was a recall because some of the pills manufactured were placebos, meaning a basic sugar pill. I was one of a 100 women who got pregnant because of this. While I was gone, a class action lawsuit took place and we the victims of the pharmaceutical company received an award. 3 million dollars a piece. I was shocked, but Dr Greene assured me that it was for the best and she handed me the award. She explained to the lawyers what had happened and they held the money for me until the doctor notified them I was around. I had to sign a lot of paperwork but thankfully Carrick was with me the entire time. He was as shocked as I was at the award. Apparently this company has issues before, so they are no longer around. Christian was surprised to say the least but didn't say anything about it.

I have just placed Teddy down for his nap, I get a call from Carrick regarding the pending trial of my kidnappers and accomplices. "Hello Carrick how is it going"? " Hello Ana, things are good at home. I am calling because I was notified from the states attorney that they will be beginning the trial for Jose, Elena and your mother in 3 weeks. They feel they have enough evidence to convict but they may require your testimony." "I thought that with the evidence and Jose rolling over on mom and Elena there wouldn't be a trial"? "That is were things get tricky. Your mother and Elena decided to exercise their right to a quick and speedy trial to defend themselves. Jose is lumped in with them as they were all essentially partners. They want you there because you are pivotal to the prosecution as you were the victim and can actually express your life in that year. Also Jose Jr is having his father petition to get custody of the baby as far as he is aware, from you. He feels that you both conceived the baby to be together and you are taking the child away from it's willing father. So he wants his father to have temporary guardianship until he is released from custody". I go quiet with these words. "They are going to take my babies from me"? Carrick continues to talk and I hear nothing further. I just drop the phone and pass out.
