lucaya day three!

seasonable job

maya straightened out her outfit and sighed before leaving her house. she was on her way to her seasonable job and she could not be any angrier. she was an elf. she only took this job because she needed money to buy her mom and her friends and lucas a gift. maya really hoped that she wouldn't get caught at the mall dressed like this or her life would officially be over.

as soon as she arrived at the mall she ran right to the santa meeting area and began working. santa aka her boss, greeted her nicely and told her to get to work.

a few hours in, she was greeting a new child and bringing her to meet santa.

"hi sweetheart! are you ready to meet santa?" maya asks sweetly.

"yeah!" the little girl squeals. maya smiles and leads the girl to santa claus. since this was her last child of her shift, she went to the little room and took off her hat and grabbed her phone before leaving the santa area. she walked out of the mall and ran right to her car so that she could get home. as soon as she got in her car, her phone rang. she looked down to see her boyfriend was calling her. she smiled as she answered it.

"hey huckleberry." she smiles as she starts her car.

"hey babygirl. can you come over?" he asks.

"i'd love to! i just have to go home and change and then i'll be over. can you make me food?" she asks.

"of course i will. i'll see you soon pancakes." he says with a smile.

"i love you." maya coos.

"i love you too. drive safe." he says before hanging up. maya drives back home and changes into some leggings and one of lucas's sweatshirts. she slides on her boots and then walks over to lucas's house.

when she gets there, she knocks on his door and waits for him to answer. when he does, he has a smile on his face and he pulls maya into a warm embrace.

"hi babe." maya says smiling against his chest inhaling his cologne.

"hey babygirl. i missed you." lucas says kissing a random spot on maya's head.

"i missed you too heehaw." she says with a slight giggle. she then lifts her head up as he kisses her gently.

"how was work?" he asks.

"exhausting. i hate my job." she says pouting.

"where do you work anyway? you never told me." he says looking down at her. maya coughs slightly and moves out of his embrace as she walks over to the kitchen. she grabs a cup and then fills it up with water.

"oh i just got a job at the mall." she says looking down at her feet.

"what store? i wanna come visit you at work." he says with a slight smirk.

"just some random clothing store. i don't even really know the name of it." she says shrugging.

"what does your boss look like?" he asks.

"i don't know! i don't pay attention!" maya laughs.

"are you sure? he doesn't have a white beard and wear a big red suit? maybe he gives children gifts on the 24th of december every year?" lucas asks and maya looks at him with wide eyes.

"how the hell did you know that?" she asks as her cheeks erupt in color.

"i may have caught you working at the mall, you little elf." he says showing maya a picture on his phone of her dressed as an elf greeting a child. he laughs a little bit and moves the phone around her face.

"it's not funny lucas! i look ridiculous in that outfit!" she says frowning.

"you do not! you look adorable!" he says chuckling.

"no i don't! it's so embarrassing that you saw me dressed like that!" maya says.

"no it's not! i love your outfit." he says pulling her into a hug.

"i don't wanna work there but i have to. and i don't like you making fun of me for it." she says with the biggest pout on her face while looking up at him.

"i'm not making fun of you for it. and why do you have to work there?" he asks.

"because i need money." 

"and why do you need money?"

"because it's christmas time and i have to get gifts for people."

"like who?"

"like riley, farkle, zay, izzy, shawn, my mom, and most importantly you."

"you know that you don't have to get me anything, you're the best gift i could ever ask for." he says stroking maya's hair.

"but i still wanna get you something. you mean the world to me and i wanna express that." she says looking up at him.

"i love you babygirl. so so much." he says giving her a gentle kiss. "if you don't wanna work there anymore, then don't."

"i just hate the uniform! it's already bad enough that i'm short, but now i'm dressed as a short character." she frowns.

"oh stop it. you look hella cute in that uniform. and i fucking love how short you are." he says. "it makes it super easy to do this!" he says lifting her up over his shoulder. maya giggles uncontrollably as he takes her to his room. he throws her on the bed and hovers over her.

"i'm sorry that i caught you at work in your embarrassing uniform. i won't show that picture to anyone and i'll delete it even though i love it." he says kissing her nose.

"thank you baby." she says smiling. she puts her hands on the side of his face and brings his head down to her so she can kiss him.

"i love you huckleberry." she says biting her lip.

"i love you too my little elf." he says making maya roll her eyes teasingly and kiss him once again.
