happy thanksgiving!

maya fixed her maroon dress and fixed her hair one last time before walking out the door to her boyfriend's car. she was on her way to the friar's for thanksgiving dinner. maya was so so nervous to meet her longtime boyfriend's family. of course she had met his mom and little brothers before but all of his family was flying in from texas for this one holiday. lucas had tried to assure her that everything was going to be fine, but maya could not listen to him. she hoped that everything would be okay, but then again hope was for suckers.

when maya walked out of her apartment building, lucas's jaw dropped all the way to the ground. he could not believe that his girlfriend looked that good although he could see the worry on her face. she walked over to him and her face was covered with a worry smile.

"babe, everything will be completely fine." lucas said wrapping his arms around her waist.

"what if they don't like me huckleberry?" maya asked in a worried tone.

"how could they not like you? you're perfect!" he says with a smile on his face.

"stop it!" she blushes. "i'm just scared." she pouts playing with his tie.

"look at me. everything will go great! how could it not? my girl looks amazing, and she is amazing. they will all love you." he says holding her face in his hands and caressing her cheeks softly.

"kiss before we go?" she asks puckering her lips. lucas chuckles before attaching his lips to hers. she smiles before kissing him back softly. his grip tightens on her waist and her fingers runs through his hair gently. they both separate and connect each other's foreheads with one another.

"you look great by the way." lucas whispers.

"i think you said that a few times." maya giggles biting her lip.

"i mean it. this dress makes your ass look phenomenal, i'm loving the thigh high boots, your makeup makes you look like an actual glowing goddess, and your hair looks beautiful. i have the best looking girlfriend, wow." he says.

"you don't look too bad yourself hucks. let's go babe." she says pecking his lips quickly before pulling away from him. he opens the door for her and then heads to the driver side of the car.

throughout the car ride, he notices his girlfriend's leg jumping up and down more frequently as they arrive to his house. he places his hand on her thigh to calm her down.

"i'm sorry i just have never been to this stage in a relationship. i'm just a little nervous." she laughs a bit.

"everything will be alright pretty girl, i promise." he says kissing her cheek quickly at a red light. she smiles and puts her hand over his on her thigh and closes her eyes before singing along to the radio.

when they arrive, lucas helps maya out of the car and interlocks his hand with hers.

"you're hands are so big!" maya laughs holding his hand.

"no it's because your hands are just so tiny baby." lucas chuckles kissing the top of her hand. she giggles and leans into him as he knocks on the door. lucas's mom opens the door and gasps.

"maya! you look amazing! come on in honey!" she shouts letting maya in.

"yeah hi to you too mom." lucas says sarcastically.

"oh no one cares about you! everyone's here to see maya!" she shouts.

"maya!" lucas's little brother, manny shouts.

"aw hi buddy!" maya smiles lifting his brother in the air.

"maya you look very pretty!" he says touching her hair. manny always loved playing with maya's hair. lucas's other little brother, daniel, came running over to maya as well.
